Fun to grow Cacti

Would have given this item five stars but there was some very minor issues. The seeds are planted in peat that you must hydrate. The dried peat block was round and the planter is rectangle. The peat block stuck out the top. Not a big deal but the instructions said to put two cups of water into the planter to hydrate the peat block. There's is no way that two cups of water will go in with the peat block. Also said that it would hydrate quickly?! I guess everyone has a different idea of fast or quick. It was like watching paint dry. I kept using a spoon to shave off hydrated peat in order to accelerate the process. Once again, not really a huge problem. The one thing I would change about this kit is I would add a power supply to it so you don't have to have it connected to the USB port of a computer. I have a laptop so it wasn't going to work so I used a spare power supply for recharging my phone from a 110V outlet. Worked great and now I can put this item anywhere there's an outlet.

Cactus Garden USB port cube

When I saw this product on FBT website I knew that it would be perfect for my school desk. As an educator I like to bring things into the classroom and are educational and interactive for the children to watch and discover as they learn about their world. I gave this a 4 because the seeds did not germinate as quickly as the product had indicated. I planted them and a week later only three of the seeds have shown any life. I am hoping that the other seeds will take off soon. That aside the quality it is top notch. The LED light hood is very durable, the cube is also very durable. I can testify to this because it has been knocked around a little bit when the children were all trying to see. It can take some abuse and still stay in tact. I was drawn to this product because the cube is powered by a USB port. I can put it next to my computer on my desk which is a great feature. For those who do not have a USB port handy to plug the cube into there is an adapter available at Radio shack that plugs into a regular outlet that had a USB on the other end. All in all, I like this product and would recommend this to anyone who wants to add a little green to their desk scape.

The light on top of plastic terrarium doesn't fit right, I had previously e-mailed you about a replacement as it seems the terrarium is too big on one of the smaller sides. can't even push it in without breaking it!!
