I bought this for my nephew for his 7th bday. He had a pokemon party and got plenty of pokeomon presents but this is the gift he played with all night. He was able to do the "builds" on his own without assistance - he said over and over he loved it. When my sister went up the next morning to get him up for school he was already up and building projects :-) So glad I bought this for him.

I've purchased this product in the past and it's been a hit with boys and girls, alike. I took my husband into the store with me because we were purchasing this gift for his niece's 10th birthday and I knew it would be a hit, but he was skeptical. He said, "Isn't that a 'boy' toy?" and I assured him that girls love it, as well. He looked through every other product in the store and inevitably ended up trusting my judgement. My niece would not stop playing with the gift once she opened it. Her father joined her and they spent an hour of the party playing together. Once he left the toy, the kids at the party all joined in and they played with our niece for several hours putting the toy together and enjoyed it immensely. In the past, my son and other niece played with the toy incessantly for many months. It's a fantastic product.

My 9 yo has had a BLAST with this. He has especially enjoyed creating a circuit that makes a light bulb glow so he can read books under his covers at night. :) His 5 1/2 year old brother has fiddled with it, too, but it's definitely better for 3rd grade and up.

This item was purchsed for my 8 year old son. He has spent numerous hours completing the sugested projects in the included books as well as worked on designing some on his own. I would definately recommed this item. The projects that can be completed with this set encourage creativity as well as patience and focus. We will be purchasing more items from snap circuits for christmas presents this year.

When my 11 year old wanted to buy this, I thought he would just play with it a few times and it would be tossed lke the other toys, but I was really suprised to see that even my 6 year old loved making all kinds of circuits and all of my 3 kids absolutely love playing with it! They have made so many circuits from the books supplied as well as invented some new ones as well! A great mind stimilating product! A++

My boys love Snap Circuits. It challenges them to think about how the circuits work and they have a great time building different things. I would recommend this toy for curious kids! The only downside is that the switch mechanism isn't very sturdy and broke after quite a bit of usage. We can still make it work though so the boys are still enjoying it.

My son & I have been dismantling electronics to look at circuit boards and we talk about the components. However, those boards are from dead devices, and nothing works. With Snap Circuits, we can actually see how each component performs its function and integrates into a circuit. The actual components are visible on the board. Lots of possibilities, no soldering, what more could you ask for? Your kid could become an electrical engineer, and it all starts here!

We just gave this toy to our son who turned 7. He is having so much fun doing project after project. The diagrams for each project are simple to follow and he loves putting together each project, seeing the results of his work. Although each part is explained at the beginning of the project books I do wish there was a bit more explanation at the project level so the kids could learn more about cause & effect. But the toy has definitely sparked his interest in electronics. And my four year daughter is also taking an interest in this toy and they have been working together on some of the projects too.

This is my son's second set of snap circuits, he began with the junior set at age 7 and finished the projects in about a week. I only had to show him once and he took off! Now we surprised him with the 300 and he won't put it down, in fact our 5 yr old daughter has now caught fire with the snap circuits and is enjoying the challenge!

I purchased Snap Circuits for my Grandson's 11th birthday. I may have to order 2 more for my other two Grands! My 7y.o. Grandaughter was the first one to snap together the light, and the boys have rigged a voice-activated alarm to their bedroom door!

At first i was looking for a crane ( hopefully an erector set type) found it at fat brain toys.. it was exactly what i wanted for my six year old.. so bought it.... my wife calls and says hold that order because our neighbor got the same exact toy for my little boys birthday... what are the odds of that..?? so anyway went back and thought i would just get something else.. and the more i looked at their stuff ( fat brain toys.. ) the more i was truly amazed at the really interesting and great quality toys they offered... so got the snap circuit set... its was little intimidating for my six year old at first.. but every night when i get home we have to "build some circuits!" awesome toy .. cant wait to get the 750 piece one day...

Holds child's attention and gives her a big variety of things to make. We like that it gives her directions to follow to make things but that she can also use her imagination to make her own things. Seems to me made sturdy.

Our 8 year old grandson is bright and loves to figure things out. He is not fond of school yet. We believe this toy will help him make connections between school learning and real applications. But the best parts are: 1. They connect him to his Dad who lives several states aware and works with electrical systems. Both grandson and his Dad have strengths and aptitudes in those areas. Snap Circuits gives them another common language. Our son says their board set-up is like that used when training adults in circuitry. 2. He took to it like a duck to water - The visual instructions are amazing; with some other assembly/building toys they are not. Grandson had done three of the 305 projects within 10 minutes of opening the package.

My son has had Snap Circuits Jr for a year and did most of the experiments. The snap parts and grid system is safe and lets a child have fun while learning. The booklet is very well written, complete with explanations of the components in simple terms, and explanations of what not to do and why. However, the 300 set will bore a kid who already has the Jr (100) set. My son quickly grew bored with the projects, since the set of additional projects is essentially the same projects from the Junior set.

I got this for my 6 year old son 2 weeks ago. He is not that into toys these days and wants to play computer games whenever possible. I was thrilled to finally find a toy that he wanted to play. Now the first thing he wants to do everyday after school is to build a circuit, rather than play on the computer. He did need some help and supervision for some of the more complicated circuits. But we enjoy playing with him as well.

Got one for my son and one for my daughter, both turning 8. They love it, especially making the flying saucer take off. The guide book is very visual and intuitive and once they got started, they were creating all kind of things quickly without a lot of parental help.

My nearly-7-year-old son loves building things (Lego, K'nex, you name it) so when I saw this I knew right off the bat he'd love it. And it definitely hasn't disappointed. He's enamored by the ability to construction and deconstruct with a different result (flashing lights, alarms, flying saucer, working radio) from each project. I can tell this is going to be a toy he'll keep coming back to rather than one he uses for a few weeks and never takes out again.

my son is 4 and plays with this with his dad a lot! The case is great - everything has a place and the instructions are clear. The projects are fun and there are some games you can play with what you make which is great if you have a big game player.

This gift was for my son's eightieth birthday. He could start playing with it right away. He understood the direction and didn't need help. He was every interested and eager to build and create things. He has already started creating his own ideas, not just what is in the book. We are working on building an adaptor for it... batteries go quick!

There is nothing better than the excitement of a kid getting his or her first electronics kit. These Snap Circuits kits are accessible and fun. I just gave one to my 7 year old nephew. He immediately started experimenting. With the guidance of his dad, he is designing new circuits based on the existing instructions. The process of creating and debugging new designs is much simpler for the beginner.

Our autistic son has hand coordination issues. He is able to snap the pieces together and likes working with me to put the sets together. The snap parts are fairly durable, but the switches are not designed for the abuse that a child can give.

It could be more complex for a 13 year old. What product would you suggest for "older" kids? Also the packaging was torn up a bit. Box was fine but for shipping needs sturdier packaging.

My 9 year old son really enjoys this toy. It is easy for him to do, yet challenging enough to keep his interest. I did not have to help my son with any of the projects. He was able to complete them on his own. Unlike Legos,(which he builds once) this toy lasts and lasts because he takes it apart and builds something else. Any boy who enjoys Legos will like this and be able to complete the tasks.

I bought this for my 8 year old who loves to build and create. He loves legos, knex, anything that he can use his imagination. The snap connects is easy for any child who can read or follow the step by step directions. He will be in his room for hours creating the circuts and will show us. My son loves it, experimenting quite a bit. I am concerned that small parts are easily lost, but so far so good. The box and placement chart simplifies putting the parts away. You might consider different types of resistors; teaching some of the color coding might be useful.

The kit was well constructed and there were a number of interesting devices that could be assembled. The directions could have been in a little more detail. Sometimes, it was hard to see how to assemble something just from the picture.

My ten year old son has created many of the projects included in the manual. He has loved every minute of it. It is easy enough that he can do it by himself. But, hard enough that he feels like he has accomplished something important when he finishes. A great toy!

Very ingenious toy. Allows kids to quickly put together 300 projects with a relatively few number of parts. Within just a few minutes, my 11 year old was happily putting together her first project. All by herself, following the large, color-coordinated diagrams. The clever design of the toy was not perfectly executed by the manufacturer. A couple of the parts did not snap together so easily. A very few number of the projects did not appear to function, but this is out 300! It is definitely something I would recommend to friends for their kids.

The Snap Circuits 300-in-1 Set was purchased for a 9 year old. The product is very instructional. He easily put together a project and will get further use from it. With the multiple uses in the Snap Circuits to experiment with, there will be more applications from this toy to keep him occupied.

I bought this for my 9 year old son. He is very mature and doesn't play much with toys like action figures, etc. He likes video games and sports. I got this hoping he would use his brain and tinker around. So far, so good. Me, my husband, and one of our friends were the first to test out the kit. It was simple, yet very cool. Directions are easy. Just last night my son asked if you could make things from this that are not in the book. I told him absolutely and that people discover and invent new things all the time that no one else had ever thought to do. I can see the wheels are already turning in his mind. I highly recommend this product!

My son loves the Snap Circuit, but within 24 hours 2 pieces have broken. The on/off switch on one or the parts and the flying piece. They are not careless boys. They are 11 and 13. But they do enjoy it.

My 10 year old son broke his arm and needed something interesting to do that would not require fine motor skills from both hands. The snap circuits set we got has a lot of interesting projects to build and the snap-in pieces are easy to place so that you don't get a project that almost works but needs mom and dad to fine tune because a little wire isn't making a good connection somewhere. The pieces also seem more durable because of the snap-in design. We have had electronic kits before but this design is clearly superior for kids.

We purchased this toy for the Holidays and this was an awesome gift for our 8 year old son. After a bit of hesitation he was really engrossed in this and snapping the different parts together was easy. Also, being able to see the results with lighting up a light or hearing a buzzer, etc. let him know he was doing things right! A great toy.

My 10 year old has had a great time building with this set. It is fairly sturdy, and the diagrams are usually easy for him to follow. Some of the snapping is a little hard for him to do. If he doesn't get them all the way in, they pop back out. But overall, he has had a lot of fun building all sorts of things from a radio to a burglar alarm (way fun for this age group!). I think this is a great precursor to helping him learn how circuits work.

Good quality set of well marked pieces. Two easy to understand project books. This kept 3 boys occupied for a long time. Tray to hold pieces is thin, but keeps them well organized. Over 300 projects including fans, speakers, sounds, radio (it worked!), lights, microphone, and cool buttons and switches.

The kids dug into this and started making things right away. They had played with it before at school, so they had some previous experience. It is now their favorite thing to play with and we ordered two other kits so that each child can have their own board to work with.

I bought this set for my 10-year-old son's birthday. He has enough Legos and video games and I thought this would be something different. My son loves it! My husband also loves it and keeps saying that he wishes he had this as a kid! The toy is education and fun.

My 6-year old son has been playing with this kit almost nonstop since opening it. He is able to follow the directions on his own and create some pretty amazing circuits. He loves to show us what he's done and how it works. A big hit and very well designed.

My nephew was very excited to receive these. He enjoyed playing with them and building some of the many different projects shown. Some adult supervision was necessary for a few of the more difficult projects. He tried, but he is bit younger than the recommended age. I would definitely recommend this product. It promotes science and creativity.

Our son just turned 7. He has a strong interest in anything related to science. He and his dad did the first few projects. He was so excited when things actually worked. This product seems safe and the snap design makes it easy for a younger child to use. I think at seven, however, it will require adult supervision for my child. He cannot use it independently at this point. All the pieces (there are a lot) fit nicely in the divided box liner. Our only complaint is that this liner is flimsy. Since keeping the many pieces organized is necessary to enjoy this toy, we'd like to see higher quality packaging. Other than that, we are pleased.

This is a really cool, educational toy. My 6 yr old loves it, and even my 5 yr old likes messing with it. Very nicely done, easy to put together. Everything we've tried so far has worked perfectly. Lot of moving parts, lights, sounds, etc to keep young ones interested. There is even some educational background discussion for each project. I would like a little more discussion, perhaps. But that's my only minor issue so far.

I bought this for my 2 year old - and I confess, for myself too. This toy fosters imagination and evokes great deal of interest in children who have a reasonably long attention span and patience. My child is too young to build the circuits herself, but finds the results engaging enough that she keeps asking me to build circuits for her. There are enough visually and/or aurally engaging circuit ideas in the two guide-books enclosed: blinking lights, voice-activated sound-effects, photo-sensitive switches, etc - whose finished effects would appeal to even younger children. Just keep the light-bulbs and the two elongated connecting wires out of very young children's reach.

I bought this for my 9 year old son and he loves it, he wants to do all of the projects at once. I like that the projects aren't all easy or hard, but a nice build. A great way to actually spend play time together without a mindless video game involved.

We bought this for our 6 year olds birthday, and thus far, it's been a lot of WOW! and fun. He and his older brother have had a really good time going through the projects together. A younger sibling wiggled off a resistor/transistor, but otherwise, we think it will hold up well.

My son received the Snap Circuits 300-in-1 pack as a gift from my wife and me for his 7th birthday. His eyes lit up upon seeing it and he tore into it. He will not put down the parts and will not stop building. Within a few minutes of opening the gift he had built several projects. As he understood on his own what different parts do, he started to build his own projects and test different things. It is amazing to see his mind at work as he is being challenged and made to think. Whatever feelings we may have about any future gifts, we always will remeber that we "nailed" it with this one gift!

This was a birthday present for my 5 yr old grandson, even though the age was for 8yr and up, my grandson loved it and was very interested in "how things work" It was the first present opened at his birthday party. He and his Grandpa immediately began working on projects together, my son asked "is there more sets to this" It was a big hit. The pieces were stored securely in the plastic tray. I'm not sure if the tray will hold up, probably will have to eventually put the pieces in some sort of organizer. All the individual pieces were color matched to the direction sheet which was a big help completing the projects.

We bought one of these for one of our grandson's for christmas and he has had a blast with it. He loves making things and learning how they work using this electric kit and has even came up with some of his own ideas on making things. He has ADHD and when he is building things like this it keeps his attention. I ordered a second set for another one of my grandson's that has ADD because he to likes to build things and see how they work. So I would diffently give this a thumbs up.

We already had the original Snap Circuits - 100 set. It was a big hit. The new expanded hit keeps our boys coming back. Both are 6 and 9 year old sons find the visual and written directions easy to follow. I really can only provide a review of what we expect this toy to do because my nephew hasn't played with it yet. But it looks great. He is almost 8 and loves to create and build things. I thought this would be a great gift for his inventive spirit. It's great because you can make a radio with it as well as several other projects. And it teaches him about electrical circuits.

My stepson really enjoyed receiving and playing with this gift. He had played with Snap Circuits at a science fair not too long ago. Finding this website with so many cool items and stuff that my stepson would really love to play with was a real blessing.

A near endless variety of experiments to perform. So far most have captured my child's interest. Though he wanted to build the most complicated ones right away, my 5 yr old has been able to build the basic and moderate experiments with little assistance. The helicopter was the biggest hit so far and I was worried he would just want to play with this forever, but first thing this morning he found other ones he wanted to build. I think this has potential for many years of enjoyment.

When my 8 year old grandson opened the package that had this "toy" in it at Christmas...he had a puzzled and disappointed look on his face. He was gracious about it and said "Thank you"...but the look on his face caused me to think I had made a terrible mistake. Boy, was I ever wrong! After all his gifts were opened and he played with the obviously fun toys...he took his circuit board "toy" to the the kitchen table and started to investigate it. His Dad (my son) joined him and soon they were exclaiming with excitement as they started making their way through the projects together. It was not long before my Grandson started TRYING to make "inventions" of his own design. I overheard him tell his Dad that it was one of his favorite gifts! And it made him feel good when I told him I found it online by googling "toys for smart kids"!

This product is most interesting and instructive one it is tailored to children with an electronic bent and it is difficult to tell if child will become hooked on it. Some kids do the project and put the toy away. Others play with it and build project after project' It is generally well received by boys 8-11, but some girls like it too
