Instructions are clearly laid out. My eight-year-old required some coaching along the way, but I tried to let him cut out all the parts and put them together. He's been engaged with the robot multiple times since we put it together. It provided a great opportunity to do something with my eight-year-old. I recommend use of a nail file or Emory board to sand off the mold channels from parts.
