It is a lovely product and I would have never found it had it not been for your site. It is well made, the colors are pretty and it provides my son with enough challenges. Also his effots to insert one block into the next has given me a window into his spatial abilities that I never had before.

My 1.7 year old grand-daughter can't use it as a constructor yet but likes to put the Cubes each other with many pleasure. Also she likes to look at the various structures we do for her. All adults take pleasure also!:) And I think the toy is perfect because: a) very compact and lightweight. perfectly adapted for the travel b) very colorful and to pay attention of the child c) multipurpose and for long time use d) and a child and the adults are interested with the Cubes. It allows to play together.

The cubes are well constructed and fit together nicely. Granddaughter (age 22 mos.) needed to be shown how once. After that she did her own constructions.

My 21 month old daughter LOVES these cubes. There are 10, 2 of each color. She stacks and sorts in all different ways, using the slots or turning sideways like traditional blocks. We also play match the colors to help learn our colors. Very cool. She plays with them every single day.

I run a home daycare & the kids seem to enjoy playing with the Dados. The toddlers like to nest them & the older ones are creative & also copy the designs on the box. They don't hold the kids interest for as long of a period as I had hoped but are a great addition to our ever-growing load of toys.

I bought these because my 14- month- old girl likes "nesting" toys, and I thought these would be right up her alley. She does like the blocks, especially when they are stacked on the pyramid plastic part of their packaging. The packaging is great for keeping them organized, and it helps the blocks fall in the right direction when she nests them. She seems interested in the shapes and colors, and has managed a few times to connect the blocks with the slits. She always is eager when I pull out these blocks and even brings them to me to open for her. These seem durable, and I'm sure they'll last her a long time. For now they are getting pretty good action, and I hope when she gets a little older, she will be able to learn new tricks with them. I can see her still playing with these in a couple of years. Keep in mind these blocks are meant for older children. The littlest cube could be a choking hazard. It should probably be saved for later, or a toddler playing with these should be closely supervised.

Product has been fun for my 4 and 2 year olds. Lots of different ways to stack them. Allows for much creativity. But they have not been as long lasting, in terms of engaging the kids, as something like blocks.

Both my children, boy and girl, love these Dado Cubes. We have the blue and the pink sets. They build them together and separately, almost always working together. It's a great toy for getting an 8 year old and 4 year old to find a common interest with play since they are far apart in age!

These are in my pre-K classroom with 3 and 4 year olds, and in the process of exploring the classroom, they have found and started using them. They're light enough for the young hands to manipulate, and sturdy enough for the two hands it takes some of them to put where they want them to go. They've discovered that they attach together in various ways, and have also used them separately as houses, for example. The colors are attractive yet not too bright. They encourage solitary play, while inviting others to partake as well, leading smoothly into conversations about alone and cooperative play.

Our 3-year-old doesn't often choose it from the toy shelf, but when we pull it out, he enjoys manipulating the squares, figuring out how they can fit together without toppling over. My husband and I appreciate that it makes him think, plan, and imagine. We notice that most toys are so "easy" to play with that the harder ones that require patience and skill are often neglected. This is one reason we love the Dado Cubes--it challenges creativity and concentration skills. Our 15-month-old enjoys the squares as well, even though she has difficulty manipulating them to stick together. She nests and arranges them in her own ways.

My four year old twins(one boy, one girl) both love this product. I bought the accessory kit too and they have really enjoyed building with all the pieces. The only way to possibly improve this toy is if they made a type of roof for the kit or hingeing doors. I would definitely buy this product again and give it as a gift!

My kids are pretty little. They were interested with these when we first brought them home, but they have trouble using them without a little help. My son uses them with other toys and built a cave. My daughter enjoys stacking them by size.

The cubes are sometimes hard to put together. They're just o.k. Our two year old was using them as garages and tunnels for his cars. They're better than t.v. The sharp corners scare me a bit.

My son is 15-months old, and he enjoys playing with it. Even though he doesn't make really creative towers yet, he enjoys nesting the cubes and stacking them however he can. They are actually easier to nest than nesting bowls or containers because they are bottomless. I can see him playing with this toy for a long time as there are lots of things for him to learn about and use it in different ways.

My 3 year old loves to build things. For the amount of money, I expected more cubes to be in the set. I was disappointed when I saw how big it was. You have enough cubes for only one build which doesn't hold the attention of my three year old. I think if you purchase this and have the money -buy two sets for expanded play. It's expensive for the amount of cubes you receive.

We were not impressed with Dado Cubes. Our 5 children love building systems, we have many. These were clumsy, the packing was not suitable to store them in, the lid kept popping open. The product itself was not fun to play with. We would not recommend this item.

When I evaluate a toy to determine its "play" value I take into consideration several factors: price, quality of construction, amount of space it takes to store, and the potential for open-ended, creative play. As a result Dado Cubes are very high on my list. I especially appreciate that they come in different colors. This way my children can have different sets that are compatible yet easy to distinguish which set belong to each of them.

The first time Isaw this product was in a children's museum. It encourages imagination and it already has a form. So for younger children, they can actually feel that they are constructing something, as opposed to some other similar building toys which do not have a form until you "create" it which as we parents know, is a hard task to accomplish for toddlers. Lets be honest there is only one thing to do with these, Stack and connect them. I love the colors but she's too young for it. It's a little boring for the adults. It doesn't have the same construction element of blocks with multiple shapes. We'll have to see if she grows into it or not.

Children and teachers enjoy the product. Children quickly began sorting the cubes, stacking them, making designs. Each new student that used them had a new idea than the others, adding to the designs that were created. Teachers are excited about using the new product in the classrooms.

This product seems fun, he isn't getting much use out of them now but I'm sure once he gets older he will. Only problem was that the cubes were smaller than expected.

My 13 month old enjoys taking the cubes out one by one and spreading them all over his playroom. I've worked with him a few times to create various shapes and buildings. The other day I watched him begin stacking them on his own -- his first constructive effort so far. I have a feeling this toy will grow with him. All in all a good buy.

We bought these for my three year old daughter's friend as a gift. We ended up buying some for my daughter as well. She loves them! She plays with them in a variety of ways. She builds things, but she also pretends they are "castles". She wears them as jewelry, and so forth. My husband likes them also.

For starters the colors are a great draw and provide additional opportunity to practice color identification with our son who just turned three. At the same time our older children are curious when they are out and envitiably join in the stacking game with us (we bought two sets to increase the structure possibilities.) Stacking from the corners is still a little challenging for our three year old, esp with the bigger cubes, but he has better luck with the smaller ones and I like that there is room to grow; he's at a point where he is up for the challenge. Another bonus is they don't take up so much room since they are nested.... with four kids I'm always wondering how much room things will need ;o)

I picked this product for my 19 month old, knowing he would grow into it. He has 2 older brothers who teach him what to do. Since he is the 3rd boy he just doesn't want the traditional toddler stuff. This is a great product because it is safe enough for him to use with his brothers. I'm planning on adding the Dado squares to it so the older boys can get even more creative. This is a toy like Wedgits or Duplos, all the children who come over end up using these!

I was very pleased with this product. My great nephews (5yr old twins) like how they can build in three dimensions. They also learned that they had to watch how they balanced the blocks while building. Their parents also like them since they are homeschooling them for kindergarten. Not nearly enough cubes to really build. More appropriate for younger child. My one and a half year old grandson was able to build with it. My four year old granddaughter was finished in five minutes. Didn't hold the interest of a four year old child, better suited for two year olds.

The cubes are sturdy, bright and colorful. It's a toy that my 2, 7 and 8 year old all play with together, which is surprising to me based on the ages. I was a bit leery about spending this much on stacking blocks but they are so much more then that and provide tons of fun for all my kids.

I love Dado Cubes. My 3 year old is so proud of the tall buildings he can make with them. My 15 month old is an expert at nesting them. I really enjoy playing with this toy as well. I am a stay at home mom, so I like to find toys that are enjoyable for us all. I feel this toy is a great investment, unlike other toys we have purchased in the past that quickly loose there appeal. I would like to have seen a better storage container for the blocks, that would be very handy.

Not the creative design toy as expected. My wife is a retired geometry teacher and she was also greatly disapointed as she introduced the Dado Cubes to our grandchildren. Too few objects for the price! You need another set to express creativity.

These cubes are a lot of fun for the kids. I think the parents like playing with them more. I say any toy that gets the parents as involved and as entertained as the child is a good toy. These are very easy to stack and seem very durable.

My children were instantly attracted to the vibrant colors and the novelty of this set of building cubes. They are sturdy, flexable, and slide together fairly easily. My children made several individual designs on their own, but lost attention after about 15 minutes without any input from me. This is OK for the younger kids, but for over age 6 I would suggest a small pamphlet of design ideas to stimulate them to try more unique designs. I also would have liked more cubes. There was a suggestion that I buy two sets if I thought I would like more cubes, which is good, but some how it did not come across to me that I would not really be satisfied with only one set.

The product is okay for a two year old. The website recommends it for two year olds, but the Dado packaging states it is for 3 year olds. My son is two, so the interaction I expected based on Fat Brain's recommendation was not met.

I think they are a bit young for my boys of 6 & 9, but for smaller kids they are very suitable. I found that the cubes sometimes stick together somewhat especially when they don't go in at right angles - that just means you have to take care what you do.

My son is three and a half and he can easily play with them. He loves distinguishing between the colors and trying to follow the pictures in the brochure that came with the set. We'll probably even purchase another set so that the sky's the limit on what he an build.

Dado Cubes-original ----The product idea, and design is awesome....but the only problem i felt using it....is that the the plastic quality seems very rough....my 3.8 yrs old loves it..but he has hard time sliding the cubes in between as the plastic is not very smooth......so a better smooth platic and this toy wud be super duper.....

The cubes are well built and sturdy. They are similar to nesting boxes but there are only four sides (no base). Each cube has offset slots cut in two of the four sides so that one can connect the cubes producing a number of different geometric patterns. The cubes are easy for a child to manipulate and the colors seem to be well liked.

Dado Cubes were a gift in combo with Dado Planks for a 3 1/2 year old grandson. The planks caught his eye immediately and while they can be used in conjunction, he preferred the creativity of the planks. Once he was shown how the cubes could be hooked together, especially in cantilever formation, he was much more involved.

we gave it to our grandson last night, age 2. He was very creative trying to stack them (does have stacking blocks) and then would try to knock them over. His big sister got the knack right away and starting building most interesting creations. He is watching and I expect he will get it real soon. But then having fun and being creative in your own way is just fine. neat toy has a wide age of interests.

My daughter actually enjoys these more than I thought she might. We have made all the shapes shown on the package, I am hoping soon she might venture out to try some of her own. My only complaint is that I wish the plastic were a little more rigid, when she doesn't get the slots alligned just right she gets frustrated and pushes harder, causing the sides to bow in a little. They seem to be sturdy enough to handle it- it just would be easier if they kept their shape better.

I ordered The Original Dado Cube set for my three year old grandaughter for Christmas. This was the first gift she wanted to have opened to explore. We worked together stacking them to have weird angles with cantelevered extensions. She had a little difficulty learning how to match the slits with the block placed before, but she is catching on and as she grows she will no doubt become an expert. Later on I saw her mom and aunt explore the toy, too.

We purchased these cubes with the Dado squares for twice the amount of fun. (Highly recommend purchasing both items.) The one amazing quality about these cubes is the ability to draw all ages of children to it.... each one had a different approach, but was equally intrigued. Highly durable, bright colors, lots of creative uses!

Lots of fun for my 2 year olds and 4 year old. It was a bit hard to fit them together, but I think that will get easier the more they play.

We gave the cubes to our 5 year old grandson on Christmas Day. Approximately 45 minutes later he was proudly showing us his first composition (it took that long because he was initially engaged with the activities of his siblings and cousins !). After a round of praise for his handiwork, he proceeded to produce another 4-5 variations of the cubes. Clearly it was a stimulating and creative activity. The colors are wonderful too.

i bought the dado cubes for my 2 1/2 year old son. he took to the bright colors and interesting material right away (the very light but durable plastic is not quite like any of his other toys)-- but as for playing with the cubes, so far all he does is separate them and re-nest them. when i show him how to build with them, he enjoys disassembling my castles, but shows no inclination to build structures of his own. i think this is a toy that he will grow into-- and that's a very good thing!

My two year old daughter loves the product. She likes to stack them on top of each other. She also uses them as nesting cubes. I've seen her categorize them according to color and descending size. Her tiny fingers have a difficult time "building" with the cubes. However, I suspect that within the year, this will not be an issue. I'm very happy with the purchase. It turned out to be a multi-use toy. Highly recommended!

These cubes were given to my 4 year old. The kids spend hours playing with them. They build all kinds of pyramids and cities. Even my 1 year old has a good time stacking them. Even mom and dad enjoy building stuff with the kids. I highly recommend them!

I purchased the Dado Cubes as a gift for my 6 month old nephew. I was looking for a quality gift made in the USA that fit into my family's gift-giving price range. While he's still a little young to play with them, his dad loves them. And nestled together, they look great on display in my nephew's room. I think they will bring him years of enjoyment.

I bought these cubes for our new son. He is only 4 months old right now. I have sat down and played with these cubes in front of him and he just stares, eyes wide open. I think he really is amazed at all the different shapes the cubes can make, and all the colors!! I know he will enjoy them one day!

I figured I couldn't go wrong with the Dado Cubes - The Blues because my two year old daughter loves to build and stack, and loves blue. I was right! She really enjoys playing with this toy and, so far, it keeps her interest for quite some time. Because she can do so many different things with the cubes, it's almost like a new toy each time she gets them out to play with them. Sometimes she likes to sort the pieces by shade while other times she builds towers, buildings, etc. I definitely recommend this toy for young children. I also bought the Cubes because they were not made in China.

They really are great. My son thinks of them as a puzzle to solve, and he has done some interesting construction. They are brightly colored and well made. On the downside, I expected a few more in the kit.

Our nephew LOVES the endless possibilities. Our daughter is less than a year old, but we ordered a set for her too, but she can't play with them yet so we are! I loved stacking boxes as a child, the Dado Cubes are so much better and more creative! We love them!

I ordered both the blue cubes and the multi-colored cubes, one for my grandson and one as a gift. My grandson opened the box of cubes and played with them for a half hour straight - not normal for this four year old! I think Dado Cubes are creative and educational and get kids to use their brains in different ways.

I ordered these cubes for my 3 year old son because I thought they looked interesting. He has loved playing with them - he likes to think of different ways to stack the sizes, and even likes to make a train with them. I really love this toy. It helps build children's spatial awareness and teaches them about balance in a different way then regular stacking blocks. You can build horizontally as well as vertically. This really is a beautiful toy as well. The colors remind me of the ocean and the shape is like a modern piece of art when constructed. I am a preschool art teacher as well as general preschool teacher and have watched many children in action with this toy. Some stack them, some sort them by size or shade, and the older children figure out how to balance and construct a building that is sturdy and sound both horizontally and vertically. The children can work together or alone problem solving. It is much more complex then you would think. It is challenging and rewarding to children of all ages. You can't go wrong with this classic toy with a twist!

First, the packaging is great since it can be used for storage. It would be nice to include more ideas for building with the cubes. It took a little while for my son to understand how the cubes fit together, but once he did, he didn't want to put them down! Very fun to play with!
