Did Not Work Well
Posted 7/3/2008

Although we put in 2 new batteries, the turtle would work only intermittently. After a while, it was difficult to get it to work at all. It's turned on by twisting the head and lining up little triangles. When the triangles are lined up, the propeller should be on. When it's twisted away, the triangles are not lined up, and it should be off. When turned on, the propeller would go on for a few seconds only and then stop. (Note from Fat Brain Toys: A replacement Hurtle the Turtle was promptly shipped to our customer.)

Hurtle Has A Problem
Posted 6/9/2008 by James E Nash

Rating:

Unfortunately I can't give this product a very high rating. The propeller started to slip the first day my sons and I used it. We will be returning it today. On the other hand, Orky and Flippy are awesome toys. They have a rubber removable propeller which will not have the same problem Hurtle the Turtle. I suggest you buy Orky and or Flippy.

i had purchased on of these earlier from a store and my nephew loved it....one that he opened from the shipment isnt working so great from what his grandmother reported to me but it isnt something that can be replaced without it causing serious behavioral issues. he is happy and loves his new toys.

These things are the coolest!!!!

For my son's 3rd birthday I ordered the turtle and the dolphin. I think I loved them more than he did!! His birthday was Tuesday and his party was Saturday. I ordered 4 more for Saturday!!! We now have the whole set, and man are they cool. We let all 6 of them go in the tub last night and my son was having a blast!!! I was too, all while mom just shook her head at what a dork I am. Oh well- these are the coolest tub toys I have ever seen!! NOTE: The Manta Ray goes pretty slow, but all the rest really zip!

My son loves the subbies for bath tub play. He had a Hurtle the Turtle and loved it, but the propeller broke soon after purchasing it. He's four and can be a little rough, so I just bought another one since he loved the first one so much. I would recommend this product---it dashes around the tub and is a lot of fun for kids!

Fun, But Not Tangle-Free

This is a really fun toy. Both of my older children love it. It's great for the tub. I would think twice about using it in a pool because they are very fast. One note, the propeller got tangled in my daughter's hair. We had to cut her hair to get the propeller out.

This is a fun toy. It works great in the tub and zips around quite quickly. I do have some concern about how sturdy this toy is. I think it would crack or break if it were dropped on a hard surface, such as a pool deck.
