I was scared when the very first puzzle threw me! A bit more thinking (and a peek at the solution) helped to secure the concept and I was off and running. Subsequent puzzles fell into line much more easily. With the difference in processing from many other, similar items I think this will be a valuable addition to my classroom collection of visual problem solving manipulatives.
It's still untested in student hands since it's summer break, but I like the monster theme, the tactile reinforcement with correlation of the number of eyes and bumpy horns, and the additional plane of height to expand the interest and development. Visual discrimination of the patterns required for stacking can be a little difficult and it is necessary for the successful completion of the activity. Learning that blue is pointed, red is square, and green is scalloped will help to overcome that limitation.
I love the spiral bound problem booklet--just wish it were printed on card stock or even plastic for longevity.
I am really impressed with the new line of toys from Smart Games! I hope you will increase your selection of these thought-filled logic puzzles.
