TOPICS | Parenting | Video Posted Wednesday, May 14, 2014 (331 views)

You have to love this great dance for the young and old alike. It is believed that is it impossible to do an entire chicken dance without smiling! Take a little time today and chicken dance with your family!

The History of the Chicken Dance
A Swiss accordion player Werner Thomas wrote ‘Dez Ententanz’ or the ‘Duck Dance’, in the 1950?s. He would play the song at a restaurant in his home country and the movement of the people dancing to his song reminded him of ducks and chickens. A music publisher heard the song and the tune spread throughout Europe and eventually to the United States.
