Fun learning tool for early math

"This is a fun way for kids to learn/practice their early math (counting, addition and subtraction) and will grow into using simple multiplication & division. The game board is short so the kids can play in very short doses and not lose interest. My kids (ages 4 & 6) usually play 2 of the long games before they want to do something else. They also get a kick out of finding small objects for their game pieces (lego minifigures are very popular). Nice that everything fits into the small pouch and easily fits into a purse/carry on. A perfect stocking stuffer for holidays too. "

"These were purchased for my 4 yr old granddaughter. She was delighted when she opened the package. She already knew the names of some of them & called them by name as she looked at each one. Some were duplicates, but that was okay with her, she just said they were twins. She goes to daycare playschool & as soon as she comes home, goes directly to the dinosaur box to play with them. There are many toys that she plays with as well, but these are one of the few she will play with by herself for as long as we will let her! With many of the other toys, she wants someone else to play, too. "

"My son, who is 4, loves his Quadrilla marble run construction set. He wakes me up early on the weekend so we can play with the marbles together. This is the second Quadrilla set we bought; he also has the Basic Set. He is not old enough to build large marble runs, but he can put together simple ones by himself. He especially likes the red blocks, which send marbles alternately in two different directions. There is definitely a difference between the Rail Set, which has straight sections, and some of the other sets, including the Basic Set, which have curved sections. Marble runs constructed with the Rail Set tend to be more sprawling, since the rail sections themselves are longer. Also, the Rail Set has see-saws that accumulate marbles and release them all at once (often dropping a few on the floor in the process), while some of the other sets have spirals. For a first set, I'd go with one that has a spiral or three. Then you can add the Rail Set later. The Quadrilla kits are more expensive than some others, but we looked at them all and thought that Quadrilla had the most creative potential."

"I have a 7 year old son who is crazy about Dinosaurs. As a result I've purchased several different toys from Fat Brain toys and the Dino Dig playset was one of those. I'd say Dino Dig is his favorite! The set has a good selection of probably what I would say are the most popular dinosaurs based on TV shows my son watches. The toys are very well made and detailed. Since the figures are moveable my son spends hours creating different types of scenes and settings around the house and on the furniture! One other point I'd like to make is this type of high quality toy is something you can't find at your local toy store. I'm sure he'll still have this toy years from now."

"This is not as good a rule as I used in high school back in the 70s. Mainly it simply doesn't slide as smoothly as it should. It also doesn't have a ln rule, just log base 10. But here's the thing, it's the only slide rule being made apparently. And the cost of buying an old Keufel + Esser is very high. So in the end it is a good enough slide rule that's very affordable for those old geeks like me who actually used to use them."

"My 3 yr old daughter immediately said, "my calendar" when she saw this. I made the connection that her teacher at preschool teacher uses one and if you remember school days it's always cool to get to use the same tools as the teacher. We've made her a calendar that she points every day telling us the different days (in her own way), birthdays etc."

"I loved the idea of this alphabet. I am teaching an African woman English. I thought this would be a learning tool for her, but the sound quality is not clear enough to use for her.
