New Elvis, miss old Elvis

My daughter LOVES the mini Elvis she received for Easter-and will not put it down, so for her first birthday we were on a mission for the "BIG" Elvis, knowing she would love him too. Unfortunately Elvis has been remade and the fringe hair is not as soft (I assume some may have fallen apart due to being loved too much), but this causes an issue of trying to rationalize with a one year old why this Lion is different. It is still a terific Lion, we just miss the old Elvis material and fringe hair. Of course the staff at Fat Brain is wonderful and this is in no way a reflection on them.
