Great math skills builder and fun enough to keep my 7 yr old engaged for multiple games in a row.

This is a very fun game... It is great for introducing math concepts for young kids. I play with my 4 year old and it is great educational entertainment. We actually take turns rolling and whoever can't close any numbers gets an 'X'... the first person to 3 X's loses. He loves it! (And he seems to always win... hmmm...)

We love this game. My children (ages 5-10) enjoy playing it and it helps the younger ones with addition.

I remembered playing Double Shutter in the Virgin Islands and ordered it to add to our stock of Christmas games, it was a hit! Everyone had fun playing together or by themselves. Only problem is everyone wants to take it home with them.

Very similar to Shut the Box. Almost too close. The container makes for it to easily be kept together. The kids liked it.

I own another version of this game and when my granddaughters found it, they love it. They live 700 miles away from me so I didn't want to give them mine. When I found Double Shutter, I was delighted. They are loving it.

We have had this game for a year and love it. I play this often with my 8 year old son. He really enjoys it so I bought it for his 2nd grade classroom (for indoor recess). You can play this game in just a few minutes and can play alone or with others. A lot of your success in this game is based on chance- the roll of the dice- but you are required to add and you must make choices that impact the outcome. All in all it's a fun game that requires little time and is portable and makes you think a bit!

Double Shutter

I found this game recommended in a magazine for children and families. I bought it for when my grandchildren come over, but I "tried it out" by myself. I have played it many times. The problem is, the first time I played I got a "1." (Low scores win; the only thing better is "0.") And now I keep trying to repeat or beat that score and I haven't. But I keep trying. It can be addictive... I look forward to playing it with others.

A game that is getting a lot of use...

We love games and have many different ones in our home. Some are a disappointment and are plyed only once or twice. Others turn out to be well worth the money and are continual fun and played often.
Double Shutter is one of those games that we have really enjoyed. It's a quick game that can be picked up and played whenever you have a few minutes or you can can play it for longer lenghts of time as well. I like playing it on my own but my 10 year old and I have also played it as a competive game against each other.
Some say it is addictive and I have to agree. I find myself saying just one more game but then can't stop. It also reinforces adding for younger kids which I think is a nice benefit.
