DaVinci Challenge Game
Posted 8/6/2008 by Julia Blackburn

Rating:

The concept of this game is simple, a bit like Blokus. Set up is quick and easy and a game for two takes about 1/2 hour. At first it seems effortless, but as you begin to play, it is a challenge to see all the patterns that the tiles make. My son and I love this game.

Challenging at first
Posted 6/11/2008 by SHARON J COOK

Rating:

We discovered this game on a rainy day while on vacation. DC was definitely a challenge at first-just figuring out what the game was about-but a fun challenge. It requires quite abit of analytical skills and ability to 'see' multiple forms at the same time. And, it requires decision making whether to focus on getting points yourself or preventing the other player from getting points. The last part of the game-just mopping up, was less interesting than expected. Playing with 2 teams is not as easy to do-if the members of a team whisper back & forth loud enough to hear each other-the other team can hear the strategy discussed. Whether playing with 2 or 4 people-we found a two minute timer necessary. We'd prefer a game that has the option for 4 players-2 teams or not. But, all in all, a fun game so we bought it once we got home.

my husband and i love this game. we first played it with our 3 and 5 year old. the only problem is that it is a flat board. it would make more sense to have the board raised so that the pieces can fit in without sliding across the board. my husband actually wanted to contact you and offer that idea as a suggestion so i was happy to see that you all wanted to know what we thought about the game.

The board game is perfect and great. I played with it as soon as I got it. It's a flat board with lots of pieces. It comes with great directions and a double sided score sheet.

I love this product. At the beginning my 15 year old son didn't show much interest. Now he likes the strategy. Not only to win, but also to create beautiful patterns for the game.

Da Vinci's Challenge Game

This is a very pretty game that involves pattern recognition and pure strategy. It kept a number of sober adults very occupied for many hours over the holidays. If small kids were around I would suspect that they would have given the adults a challenge. There are many possibilities with this game.

I bought this game for my grandchildren (ages 8-13). It is a good strategy board game for young and old but it really works best for 2 players. With 4 players, or teams, it was more like 'tic tac toe'; whoever starts first has the advantage. Still, it was fun and something different. My main complaint was the board itself, which would have been better if it wasn't a folding one and instead had ridges like Blokus to hold the shapes where they're placed. One bump by a player required rearranging all the pieces.

Memom's Challenge

My 10 year old grandson and his friend really like it. He was at my home the day it was delivered and was thrilled. We proceeded to play the game and he trounced me. It was a challenge in concentration, but still fun. I look forward to playing it again.

Da Vinci Challenge Game
Posted 6/10/2008 by jerry gordon-hellman

Rating:

This game challenges the player to find selected patterns from a famous -thousands year old "flower of life." You score points by placing when alternating turns-one of two types of pieces on the board. The more complex the pattern you complete- the higher the score you earn. You must decide to pursue your symbol- or block your opponent's attempts. The game presents many possibilities in the first half of the game with your intentions not so easily discovered by your opponent-similar to chess. However, as the game advances away from the center of the board- each players moves become fairly transparent- the moves become a bit repetitive- and the game loses excitement.
