Information about Bug Specimens (Scorpion, Ant, Wasp, Flower Bug)

Very nice specimens for my homeschooled children. We do not have a microscope at this time, but the characteristics of the insects we have discussed are viewable, for the most part, without a microscope.

My rating of Bug Specimens (Scorpion, Ant, Wasp, Flower Bug)

I was looking for the ant primarily to give to my nephew who just turned nine. He has a self-confidence problem. I do a "comic" performance of "High Hopes" for him once in a while. I wanted the ant to go with a computer collage I made for his birthday. The ant is on his bedside table now. The other three bugs will go to his younger brother who is the real "bug man" in the family. The set I bought from your company contained just what I was looking for. Thank you.

Interesting, But A Little Simplistic and Inconsistent

Both sets of plastic-encased arthropod specimens (specimen "blocks") were generally what I had hoped for. One set had reference numbers embedded in the blocks along with the specimens and the other set had removable number reference labels. Since I wanted the specimens for display, the blocks with the removable labels were preferable. All the the labels referred to the generic names of the specimens anyway (yeah, we know it's a scorpion) rather than the scientific name, so they weren't that helpful from an educational point of view. That being said, the specimens are interesting and the features of each are clearly identifiable.
