I have a 6 yr old girl and a 2 yr old boy I bought them each a lightening stick and they love it. They turn off the lights and use them as swords, chase each other with it, make tents with pillows and blankets and use them for light inside the tent. They where fun for us too, my husband and son sword fight, and I was attacked by both my kids with the flashing light sticks. Their very soft like foam so they don't hurt and a little flexible so they don't break. I think its a fun toy for any kid, and would buy them again.

Almost Perfect

There is only one setting that makes this toy a limited play piece; the strobe is way to strong and fast and is hard to even look at. The other settings are all fine and the one that slowly becomes all the diifferent colors one by one is my daughters favorite as she likes to shout out the colors as they appear. The material is great and you can't really hit anything hard with it if you tried...just wish that strobe was not there.
