Fun little wash-up helpers
Posted 8/16/2009 by Jacqueline Mittman

I bought these washcloth puppets because my 10-month-old son hates having his face and hands cleaned after meals. These little guys make it much easier - now instead of cries and complaints, I get giggles and smiles as I make the bear pretend to chomp his little hands and cheeks!

My granddaugther always wants her special wash cloth at every bath. It makes bathtime more fun. At two years she doesn't yet use it as a puppet, but loves the funny face.

mealtime clean-up fun!

Sought out these washcloth puppets to reduce the battles that often seemed to arise when cleaning our 1 year old daughter's hands and face after every meal. Instead of whining and fussing as she often did with the wet paper towel approach, she ends up in giggles. We turned the ritual into playtime by singing songs and having the puppet first drink warm water from the tap and then come over to sniff her hands and guess what she had to eat. Then the monkey / puppy / bear gives her kisses while we wipe away whatever remains on her face. The only issue we found is that even when rinsed thoroughly and hung to dry, the puppets take on an odor if not run through the washing machine after every 2-3 uses.

Cute washcloth!

This is a super cute washcloth! The material is not super-soft, but perfect for washing those little baby bottoms! Good size for adult hand.

I like this one.

The washcloth puppet is fun. I chose the dog for my 5 month old grandchild. It is soft and plush. The simple lines are appealing and the ability to insert my hand as a real puppet makes it interactive. I like it a lot.

My nephew Jack (4yrs old) was diagnosed with autism about 9 months ago. My sister and her family are using all the tips, tools, and techniques they can to help Jack respond to others and overcome his disability as much as he is able. My sister reported to me that Jack was interacting with puppet toys, which is a huge step for him. I couldn't find anything of the sort in the stores, so I searched Amazon, and found these. I ordered the Monkey puppet.
The product seems to be well-constructed, with medium to light-weight terry cloth. Not sure how well it will stand up in the long run, but should be fun for my nephew!

Great for kids

We really like the bath puppet for our little boy. He enjoys having a little friend at bath time. The shipping was fast and the price was right!

I would have preferred them to be sold both separate and as a set. A little expensive for a wash cloth. The quality is great!

cure for the dreaded wash time

This product was a fun way to get my son interested in actually washing himself during bathtime! The only down side is that it's a little scratchy on the interior, so he doesn't like to wear it himself. But it's what I need to get him washed, so it's a godsend.
