The size and thickness of the cards is great. She loves to pull them out and looks at certain ones that we have talked about but others are too complicated for a 2 year old. We look at "happy"/"sad", "ants in my pants", "quiet shhhh", "loud", "calm" (because we can talk about the baby and the star in the window.
I love the idea but was a little disappointed in the weird faces and colors used. I would have liked it to be more "lifelike" and similar to what real people look like.

My son got these as a gift from his great grandmother. He has autism and I wanted to use them to help him learn about different types of emotions and reading people's expressions. I agree with another reviewer who said that it would have been better if they used real faces. Many of the emotions depicted are too complex for him to understand (he is 3) but he does seem to be learning what a happy face looks like, versus an angry face. I think they would be great for an older autistic child. We will continue to use them and build on what he has learned for a long time to come. The cards are excellent quality.
