World Map Floor Puzzle
Posted 10/5/2009 by Srividhya Ramachandran

Rating:

I generally love Crocodile Creek products. I am a little disappointed with the following: too many details on the pieces create lot of clutter - kind of takes the kid away from the objective of learning about where the different continents/countries are.

Great World Floor Puzzle!

I also got the Crocodile Creek US Map floor puzzle, because I was so thrilled with the artistry and detail of both. Not only will these maps be a fun interactive tool in my child's learning and development, I also appreciate the quality. The cute and sturdy case that the puzzle pieces come in is also of great quality, and allows this to be tucked away or displayed when not in use. I like that the puzzle is larger than most, especially as a safety feature, but also to stimulate and engage small children. This puzzle will be great for my daughter to learn about all of the different parts of our world and the amazing things that can be found in every region.

I was disappointed that only the capitol cities were printed on the world map puzzle. My two year old grandson recognizes all the states of the U.S. He can work the 50 piece puzzle by himself. I was hoping the world floor puzzle would be the next learning tool for him. Without the country names, it's just a puzzle.

World Map Floor Puzzle
Posted 7/8/2008 by P Brayfield

Rating:

I took this puzzle with me on a volunteer assignment to teach English to middle-school girls in Tanzania. The students had never seen jigsaw puzzles before, and they were delighted with this one. I used the puzzle to practice some basic English vocabulary, as I suggested strategies such as finding 'corners' and 'straight edges,' 'matching colors' and the like. The lesson helped the students review basic geography even as they developed some vocabulary and listening skills in English. They loved the colorful and informative graphics. I left the puzzle with the geography teacher at the school, so I hope it will continue to be used as a teaching aid in a setting where the only teaching aids, as a rule, are a blackboard and chalk!

I haven't opened it yet ... it's a gift for my Grandson and his birthday is in a few weeks. I liked your product because it came in a case with a handle. Much nicer than a box. He will like that he can easily carry it around with him. The pieces appear to be solid. I expect it to wear well.
