All Ages Like This Toy

I purchased the Stomp Rocket JR for my grandson's third birthday gift. When he opened it and all the family went outside to watch what the toy did, it was an immediate hit. The 3 year-old was able to make the rockets shoot up about 15 feet into the air (which delighted him a lot), and his 12 year old uncle made them shoot up considerably higher. It was also fun for his 26 year-old dad and 62 year-old granddad who could really shoot the rockets up into the air. The rockets are soft and safe to use. The air pump looks like it will be durable and will last a long time provided the big boys don't wear it out having too much fun. This is an especially enjoyable toy for boys, but I think girls would like it, too. Great for the whole family and fun to watch if you aren't the one doing the stomping.

I bought this rocket launcher for my 4 year old grandson. He loves it. He can use it in the house as the foam doesn't do any damage. We have two story ceilings in some rooms and he can send the rocket all the way up to the ceiling! It works so well, it is amazing.

Great fun, awful build quality
Posted 12/6/2010

Rating:

It's a rocket, so my five year old loves it (though he kinda got bored with it after a little while). No doubt it's a fun toy. The build quality isn't very good. The launch pad has trouble staying together/sitting upright on it's own. I found a good bag of rice placed over one of the arms takes care of the problem. We've had two fins already break off of the styro rockets so make sure to get an extra pack of rockets. That said, for 15 bucks it's well worth the money.

we got this toy for our 4 yr old grandaughter to play with when she came to visit us in FL. what a fun, fun toy! Yes, it did go on the roof a couple of times-no big deal. We live in a 55+ moblie home park and many stopped to watch the play. We offered it to other grandparents for their visiting grandkids since our family had flown down and had no room to take it home-and it was still wintery at home in Ohio. Everyone tok us up on the offer! Everyone loved it and wanted to know where we got it.
When it got home to OH, I am not sure who had more fun-the 4 yr old or the dad, grandpa and uncle. Every visit saw it as the toy of the hour. They had all kinds of contests with adults and neighborhood kids. They got out the uncles stored childhood army men and what fun they had trying to be an affective enemy! The Stomp Rockets are a great toy. All about creativity and kid power. But you need to buy extra rockets-they do eventually show some damage after being retrieved from roofs and trees. But that is a small cost for the hours of fun provided. Gets everybody up and running as they chase down the rockets and bring 'em back to shoot again. I have ordered several more rockets and some of the other rocket options for Christmas. And I have ordered each of the adult men their very own super-duper launchers! PS They are in their 40's! FYI I am a retired primary public school teacher who taught for 35 years and I think I am a fair judge of a toy's value!

We got this for our 4-year old's birthday. Took it out to the park so all the kids could play with it and it was fun for everyone from our 19-month old to our 11-year old. It was something they could all take turns with and run around and catch the rockets. It's a fun simple toy that keeps them active. I liked the price too!

My kids love it
Posted 11/16/2011 by Marianne barry

Rating:

My 5 year old and 3 year old love the Stomp Rocket Jr. The rockets fly very high and quite far. It's easy to use for both of them. They love to see the rocket fly. But the base for the launcher did not stay together. I had to reassemble several times each time we played with it. I finally superglued it together. Also, the ends of the rockets started falling off the first time we used them so I superglued those too. This is the reason I'm not giving it 5 stars.
 |
 |
In this case, Superglue was a very resourceful, effective solution. Our super customer service is another. If any Fat Brain Toys product is less than stellar, please contact our Returns & Exchanges center. We aim high for your full satisfaction.

Rating:

This is a great toy... my grandchildren really enjoy it. I gave it only three stars because it is poorly constructed. I had to tape the base together during the first five minutes of play! The styrofoam rockets break easily. The basic idea of a stomp rocket is great. I suggest lowering the price, due to poor construction, or fix the problem.

My 5yo son absolutely loves Stomp Rockets. He can spend up to an hour blasting rockets into the sky. My 7yo daughter and the tween boys next door keep asking for a turn. I would give Stomp Rockets 5 stars if I was just rating on the enjoyment factor. I took away 2 stars because the toy itself is not sturdy. One leg of the base broke on the first day. I was able to repair it with duct tape. On the 2nd day some of the fins fell off one of the rockets.

A little disappointed. The stand for the rocket is very flimsy and doesn't really stand up without someone holding it. It does shoot the rocket pretty far. Kids had fun with it for a little while, but it didn't keep their attention for very long because it was hard to set it up.

Stomp Rocket Jr
Posted 10/5/2010 by Erik Heemsoth

Rating:

It was raining the day we got this in the mail but my 4 year old figured out how to launch it by holding the stomp pad under his arm pointing the rocket and shooting it around the house. Because the rockets are foam, they do not do any damage to walls or furniture (and do not hurt if they hit you!). Once we were able to take it outside, my son literally played with this toy for hours adjusting the direction, and playing around with how hard you need to stomp to get the rocket to go really high. What a great toy!

I have purchased this product (Stomp Rocket Jr) as well as the 50 model Engino construction set plus the Sunart Kit, but I'm giving all of them to my nephew for Christmas. I am sure that he will absolutely love them. Everything I've heard about your company and what it offers really engages my interest because I am concerned about children being more creative and using their imaginations. Great outdoor fun!
Posted 28 days ago by Michele Bianchi

Rating:

My son loves his stomp rocket. It's a lot of fun for him to stomp as hard as he can and see how high the rockets can go. We've had other children of all ages over and everyone seems to like this toy. The only drawback is that the rockets are made of styrofoam and can damage easily. But it does come with 4 so if one breaks there are still 3 others. You can order replacements too.

The concept for entertaining a 4 year old boy is to have something that he can jump on, push, dig, compete with, etc. I found this toy to provide the "jump" equation. And, as a plus he can compete with another little boy. Therefore, it provides frequent strength competition - and bragging rights.

We bought the Stomp Rocket JR for my four-year-old son. This product is an amazing value and perfectly age appropriate. Even our nearly two-year-old daughter caught on and was jumping on it. My son plays with it as much as he can when the weather is nice (I'm sure in the summer the rating would be "won't put it down!"). It is easy to see why this toy has received so many awards -- no batteries; great way to get the kids moving; fun for everybody. I gave this to my 3 year old nephew and he was immediately into it. He played with it all day long and then my sister called to tell me that when they got home from Christmas festivities, my nephew ran into the house and proclaimed, "It's rocket time". Later that night we received a text from my brother-in-law that when he went into my nephew's room to check in on him as he was sleeping, my nephew was talking in his sleep about the rockets. I would say this toy is a winner.

Easy to put together but I added a nylon cable tie wrapped tightly around the attachment point to better support the stand.
My 3 year old grandson was just blown away with excitement. It took him a while to coordinate the stomp but what's good is that if you slide the rocket just slightly down onto the launcher tube, even a slight press on the pad will send it up ... they get the idea pretty quickly.

I was pleasantly surprised with the stomp rockets, the toy itself is not very technical but provides immense joy for my 3 and 6 year old boys. I mean what boy doesn't like launching rockets. The foam rockets ensure that they fly and don't break anything when they play in the house and also that they easily fall out of trees when playing outside. My boys love it. I would order an extra pack of the rockets as the five provided tend to get launched and fly further than expected and not retrieved by eager boys stomping rockets artillery style.

Bought both the Ultra Stomp Rocket (5 yo. grandson) and Stomp Rocket Junior (3 yo. Grandson). These two items were an immediate hit, with both boys and grandmas and grandad received numerous thank you's from both our "boys". Both of these toys are multi-beneficial for the boys. They are easy to assemble, easy to prepare for launch and easily launched. My 3 yo was loading it and launching it within two minutes of setting the unit on the ground. The exercize benefit is in the running after the just launched rocket. The co-ordination required to "stomp" on the bellows to set the rocket off. This is close to being as perfect a toy for young boys as you can find.

A birthday gift for our 3 yr. old grandson. He LOVED it! He loved being able to position the rocket on the tube by himself and "stomp" on the air pouch by himself. WE loved it because he couldn't stomp hard enough for a good shot w/o holding one of our hands for balance. A sweet partnership! We loved the fact that the rockets were soft and wouldn't hurt if they should fall on someone. Each time he made the rocket go high, he would clap his hands, laugh and laugh, and run off to retrieve it.
There were no other children at the "party", but the other adults were also anxious to have their "turns". We are really glad to have found such a successful gift!

I'm a pediatric physical therapist and bought one for the clinic and one for the kids I see in their homes. It's gone over very well. I had one before, a different kind and it was too hard for the kids to stomp it hard enough to get the rockett to fly. This was is so much easier. I like it because I use it as a balance tool. The child has to pick up one leg to stomp and has to balance and increase their weight on the other side.

Purchased this for my almost 3 year old Grandson who visits my home weekly. HE LOVES IT. Not only because it flies but because he can load it and jump on it by himself. Very simple concept that encourages confidence and fun. He feels like a big boy. Also, he is not willing to share because of the wonderful independent feeling that he gets from it. So make sure you buy everyone their own, it's a small price to pay for watching the kids have some much independent fun!

Stomp Rocket JR is Great!

This is played with anytime more than one child is around. They seem to get more enjoyment the more kids are running around in the yard. They love it when the rockets end up in a tree or on the roof and have to be retrieved. They have learned to use it without the stand by putting the "stomper" under thier arm and shooting rockets while running around the yard. The rockets don't hurt AT ALL when someone gets hit with one which is great. Seriously kids 1-100 are enjoying this toy. One recommendation, buy lots of extra rockets. They do get lost occasionally and 1 year old boys do tend to tear off the wings if you are not looking.

My 3 year old loves it

This is the simplest concept made with simple materials but we get a lot of mileage out of this little toy. It's also small and easy to store. The most fun is when there are 2 or more kids (when my son has a friend over) and we have a competition of who can get their rocket the highest. The good thing is that is goes far in the sky but doesn't go far once it lands on the ground so it's easy to reload again and again and again...

The thing I most liked about this product is that it comes in two levels of difficulty, thus allowing me to order for my nephews. They are all different ages but the option of a Jr and Advanced gives the same present but with ability level appropriate for each boy. I love this website! I have already given the web address to 10 friends who plan to order.

My 3 and 5 year old son have found many uses for this. They of course try to see how high and how far they can get the rockets to go but they also set it up to shoot down towers or whatever else they can aim and shoot at. Used at a birthday party and even the adults enjoyed getting rockets unstuck from trees and roof.

We love The Stomp Rocket Jr! It is a great toy for my almost 4 year old boy. He loved it the minute we put it together. There are a lot of toys out there that he cannot do yet but this was very easy for him to do. The day we got it, we had to tell our neighbors where to get it because they loved it too! Just be careful of the trees and houses, the rockets do get stuck but come down in the next rain storm.

Stomp Rocket JR

Rating:

My kids ask to play this game every night! I works great indoor, especially in the winter, because of our two-story open family room. The kids try to hit the ceiling. Obviously they have stomped and jumped as hard as they can and haven't hurt the product. The foam rockets are soft and won't hurt a thing if it does happen to shoot astray. I do have some complaints about the toy. My youngest has managed to rip off almost all of the rocket fins but I have repaired them with the hot glue gun. The tri-pod does require parental support both to put it together and to keep it from falling apart as the kids are playing. Overall, I'd give this game an A!

The Stomp Rocket provides lots of fun for everyone in the family. I got it for my 4-year-old grandson, but everyone in the family got involved, including the dog. It took a bit of practice before my grandson could get any distance on it - by stomping hard enough. And, of course, my 18-month-old grand daughter needs a little extra help (weight) from me, but she loves running to get the rockets. Besides shooting thme up high, we also practiced hitting targets and shooting them over obstacles. Great fun.

Stomp Rocket Jr Review
Posted 3/23/2010 by Koren Sumser

Rating:

My kids (ages almost 4 and almost 7) played with an earlier version of this at a friend's house and loved it. They really enjoy this rocket too and I like the idea of the glow in the dark rockets for summertime. The other nice thing is that it seems to go higher because the stomper is bigger. Because the stomper is bigger, it's a little harder for my 4 year old, sometimes it takes him a few tries which can be frustrating. The only real criticism I have is that the tri-pod is a flimsy design. I had to continue re-assembling it almost every time my son loaded a rocket. I finally taped it together but that will make taking it apart for storage more difficult. The assembly directions were easy to follow. Overall we like the toy but there's a little room for improvement.

My husband has reinforced the plastic stand for ours. The rockets wear down with time and use. The tubes crack so they won't fly. It is a good idea to buy some extras as the kids will want to use it again and again.

The Stomp Rocket was lots of fun. It was easy for kids to take turns, because each turn goes quickly. The outcome of stomping on the pad sends the rockets extraordinarily high into the sky resulting in lots of squeals of delight. Running to gather the rockets when they fall gives a little exercise and trying to catch them builds the hand eye coordination. Don't play with this near lots of trees, or you'll lose your rockets.

This product was given as a gift, but my own child received one a few years ago. All of the neighborhood kids enjoyed launching the rockets, but living in a suburban neighborhood, we ended up with several that went over neighbors fences, in trees etc, so we certainly wished for replacement rockets. I also found that because the kids muct stomp on the launch pad, pieces ended up breaking.

I have two daughters ages 2 and a half and 5. Both girls have really enjoyed taking turns stomping on the "stomper" to see how high they can get the rocket to go. I enjoy seeing them get their exercise by running to pick up the fallen rockets to start all over again. All the neighborhood kids gathered around, also, to check out my girls' new toy.

This is definitely an easy yet awe inspiring toy that still teaches the basic principles of flight. Our family (and friends) love it. I know of a few nieces & nephews that are asking Santa for their own Stomp Rockets and I saw the Deluxe version on my husbands list too!

This toy is the best. Grandkids ranging from three to eleven years enjoy playing with this toy together. We purchased 4 of them so all 10 of the kids can play as a group making up their own contests and games. And there is no end to the amount of exercise they get using this. Even dads have been seen "doing the stomp". We have had hours of fun with this all summer and is still one of the first toys that is gotten out when one or more of those grandkids get to Grandma's house. The big red bulb is extremely durable--the rockets, however, don't last as long but replacements can be ordered.

My son and daughter (5 and almost 3) adore their stomp rocket. I set up the stand for them and supervise, but they can operate it by themselves without a problem. It's easy for them to shoot the rocket up in the air and then reattach it and repeat the process over and over. They have only used it inside the house so far, which is fine with me. The rockets shoot up to the ceiling but are soft enough that I'm not concerned about them causing damage. The "fins" on some of the rockets broke off, but the rockets still function just fine. We'll buy replacements if needed. Fun b-day present for a 5-yr old.

My 1.5 years old son was able to understand the idea of how to launch the rocket in 3 days. We launch the rocket every day as one of our outdoor activities (like chasing birds, building sand houses etc). He likes to start the rocket as a first outdoor event in the morning. And also he likes to do multiple rocket starts if dad jumps in the air to catch them. It makes him happy. :)
To make this toy more friendly for infants:
1. Let him start the rocket with the rocket put on starting pipe just half length. It eliminates the need to kick the starting pad so aggressively.
2. Launch the rocket horizontally. He could trace the object without moving heavy head up.

Was recommended to us by an employee at Fat Brain Toys when we were looking for a toy for our 4 year old's birthday . . . he loves it and so does his younger brother and sister. He is going to be five soon and was invited to a friend's 5 year birthday party and guess what he took the birthday boy for a present?!
Light enough that can play with inside and not break things or cause damage. Fun to play outside, just know that they can get stuck in the gutters and on the roof!
Because our youngest played with the nut that attaches the hose to the 'stomper', we wrapped that area with some electrical tape.
The blue fins do come off of the rockets - couldn't say that our kids have been careful with them, though. It doesn't affect the young kids' play with the toy, though, because they are not trying for 'accuracy' anyway.

As a grandparent, this looked like great fun. It turned out that the parents also thought so. But that was okay since having two Stomp Rockets gave us a chance to have Stomp Rocket contests. Lots of fun for the little ones to retrieve the rockets and the soft rockets do no damage even in the livingroom!

I gave this to my son for his fourth birthday. The launcher is amazingly easy to assemble and he immediately figured out how to set up and shoot rockets by himself. He's having fun setting the launcher at different angles and trying to predict where the rocket will go. One slight problem: he pulled the fins off the rockets-- they come off easily but seem impossible to put back (I haven't tried gluing them yet). Although the flimsiness of the rockets is part of their appeal (light harmless, you wouldn't cry if you lost one), it would be nice if they were a *little* less flimsy.

I got this as a gift for my 2-year old son for Christmas, and it was one of his favorites! He absolutely loved seeing the rocket take off and played with it the most out of all of his Christmas gifts! This toy can be played with inside, but the more space you have, the better. I can't wait to see all of the fun he is going to have with this toy in the summer when we take it outside. This is a great toy and a great value!

Our son received this for his 3rd birthday and loved it from the moment he saw the box. The foam rockets glow in the dark (loooook mommy!!!) and apparently double as swords. It is also very easy to use, and we never even needed to explain how to use it.
The only reason I don't rate it 5 stars is that the parts are on the light/flimsy side. I am not sure the rockets are going to hold up at the rate this toy is seeing use. I had to reglue a tail fin on the second day of use (granted, use as a sword rather than a rocket, but I can't imagine my kid is the only one to use them this way!).

We bought 2 of these, 1 as a gift (girl), and 1 for our almost 3-year-old (son) because the few times we have seen people with Stomp Rockets at the park they seemed to be a hit with everyone ... and boy-o-boy are they a HIT!!! My son loves them and we made several other families happy today at the park when we brought this along --- PURE FUN!!! I love that it provides great excitement for the kids while at the same time being fantastic for their hand/eye coordination. It also wears the kids out as they scream with delight and chase the rockets. Our son also now knows about gravity AND has added the moon and astronauts to his "i'm using my imagination mommy" play time! I highly recommend this product and will be buying a few more for other birthday gifts.

We purchased the Stomp Rocket JR for a 3 year old boy and 1.75 year old girl. Since it is winter, we have used it indoors only. We purchased the JR model based on the the ages of our children, and because one child has low muscle tone and we were unsure how much strength would be required to "stomp" the models designed for older children. All of that said, both kids absolutely love this toy! We have not let them play with it at will for fear our dog will have a field day with the foam rockets. However, when we get it out for supervised play the kids do not want us to put it away! Our son's physical therapist has also used it in a session with him and was very impressed with the toy. According to her, the resistance on the stomper is perfect. The simplicity of the design even allowed her to use it to work on balance and strength simultaneously (by placing the stomper on a small stool so our son would be required to lift his leg and stomp at at a height greater than floor level). While he usually tires or gets bored during his PT, he did not when using the Stomp Rocket. Another great feature is the ability to aim the rockets to launch at various angles.

I got this for my niece for her 6th birthday. When she unwrapped it, she wasn't all that excited. It's not the sorta box that sticks out and says "tons of fun". But while she was unwrapping the rest of her gifts, I snuck away and set up the rocket. As it was winter, I used the foyer of my brother's 2 story house (which was no problem... the foam rockets were safe for indoor use). Although she wasn't sold on the item in the box, once my niece saw this contraption in action she was completely sold. Very simple to use and great results. She had no problem sailing rockets all the way to the 20 ft ceiling. Her 4 yr old sister and 2 yr old brother also joined in... and although they couldn't "stomp" as hard they still loved seeing the rockets fly a few feet in the air. Huge hit for everyone. Once it warms up I think they'll love using this outside.

I purchased this for my four-year-old grandson for Christmas. As usual it was a flurry of paper and boxes and toys but when he opened the Stomp Rocket Junior everything came to a halt. He immediately took it to his father to have him fasten the hose into the launcher and after that no further instruction was necessary. He wasn't even interested in the assembly of the launching platform, he preferred to hold it in his hand. That way he could shift to targets of opportunity, like his 13-year-old sister or one of the dogs. Due to soft foam construction of the rockets no harm was done, the dogs didn't mind and his sister was only mildly annoyed. All in all the toy was a total success and easily the favorite of the night.

Would have given it 5 stars were it not for the rocket fins.
The fins are slightly inset and held in place with some kind of adhesive.
One of the fins came out after the second launch and needs to be glued.
Several of the fins are in varying stages of coming undone after two days of moderate play.
Also, the hose from the air bladder torques the launch pad and requires one person to hold the base while someone is launching the rocket.

However, I am disappointed in the construction. I purchased this for my 3-1/2 yr old son. We needed something to burn off energy inside during the winter season. It took him several attempts before he got the hang of stomping on the pad to make the rocket fly, but he is pretty good at it now. He has a good time trying to shoot mom or knocking over some stacked plastic cups (a version of bowling that we created). The product seems pretty durable as we have already dragged the stomping pad around as we gather up the rockets. I wish the hose was a little bit longer, but I assume that the regular Stomp Rocket hose is. I am thinking about getting the regular one for me so that my son and I each have one. Well worth the money.

Boy 3 and girl 5 love stomp rockets and this has got to be the best brand available on the market. The stand is a bit fiddly to put together a first time and prone to dislodging when bumped by those wild excited stomping feet (hence 4 stars). Therefore the one simple improvement I would suggest to the manufacturer is a locking clasp for the stand, in the meantime a quick fix with electrical tape is all that is needed.

We have only tried this once since we gave it to our son at Christmas time and it's too cold to get outside with it just yet. We tried it out in a gym and it worked great - even hit the ceiling a time or two. I think our three boys, ages 3, 4 and 6 will love it this summer!

My two kids age 5 and 3 love the stomp rocket. The rockets are nerf material so they play in the house with it as well as outside. Only down side: I think it is a little over priced, but the for how much the kids are enjoying it...it is worth it.

My 2 year old and 4 year old love this toy. We have a great room with a high ceiling and since the rockets are foam I don't worry about anyone getting hurt. The launcher also allows for aiming so you can aim down a long hallway - not just up.

It's a good thing the darts are foam! Our five year old son launched it at least 20 times in the family room, surrounded by his other presents. It is very easy to set up (and take apart). Love the easy lesson on Newton's 3rd Law: To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Now if it were only warm enough to play outside!

I ordered 3 stomp rockets for my 3 grandchildren, ages 3 1/2, 3 1/2, and almost 3. They LOVED the rockets. They shot them outside, they shot them in the house, and they especially loved shooting them at (and mostly missing) their very patient 14 year-old cousin. What fun! How easy and how hilarious. Even the 14 month old quickly figured out how to mount the rocket, and she knew she had to stomp it, but just didn't have the juice to make it fly. A great gift. We all enjoyed watching them and avoiding being bombarded.

We bought this as a Christmas present. It was very easy to setup. The kids (age 3-8) could independently play with it. No adult help needed once it was set up. The rockets really do go high so buy an extra packof rockets. We lost a few on the roof. Great toy for a reasonable price.

We bought our kiddos Stomp Rocket jr for Christmas - Abby is 5 and Ace is still 2. It was one of the first toys we got out of the box and put together on Christmas Day, and it seemed to go together really easy - and since it was still early and we were in our pajamas we stomped it a bit in the house, ok a lot. Neither of the kids were strong enough to stomp it and make it go - but my husband had great fun pointing it at the kids and shooting them with it (can you hear me saying you'll poke your eye out with that, lol). Then he threw the kids around so the landed on it and popped the rockets up. It didn't take Abby long (about a half an hour) and she could do it every time. I'm not sure when Ace figured it out, but by the next day he could do it every time too. For some reason we still haven't gone outside with it - but we are enjoying it immensely.

I purchased the Stomp Rocket JR as a present for my 3 year old son. Before he even knew what it did he was took a rocket out and pretended to fly it around. Once I set it up outside and he saw what it really did, he was thrilled!!!! I highly recommend this product to anyone!!! It was fun for the both of us. He had a little trouble launching the rockets, but was more than happy to run around collecting them once they landed. There were a few launches where I believe it may have reached a hundred feet but not consistently. It really didn't matter. It was way worth it to see the look on his face and the way he danced around collecting rockets.

I bought this toy for my 3 year old nephew. It only took about 2 minutes to take it out and put it together and he hasn't stopped playing with it yet. It comes with a few rockets which is great because I could not reload it fast enough for him to jump on it again. Thankfully, he got the concept of reloading the rockets on his own.

I gave the Stomp Rocket to my grandson for Christmas. Mom reports that it was greeted with glee. It seems they already had gotten a Stomp Rocket and it was a ton of fun. Unfortunately, the dog chewed up the rockets and before mom got them replaced, some pieces disappeared. I had no idea that they had been asking for another. They can't wait for the snow to melt so they can take it to the park where they can play with it without fear of rockets ending up in the neighbor's yard or on the roof. Sounds like it was a very successful gift. Thanks.

This toy manages to keep a child's interest for a long time. The only drawback is that the stand is very flimsy and difficult to keep upright against the weight of the air tube. The other negative is that boys will want to use the toy as a "gun," aiming the rocket at something (or someone). I know I would have done that, too.

My son loves this toy. He is 2.5 yrs old and it took a little rigging for him to be able to do it himself. My husband put medical tape on it so he didn't push the rocked too far down. Once my son got the hang of it, we took the tape off. The only other downside we saw was the legs came apart fairly easy. But we just duct taped them together and have had no problems since. Overall, it is a great toy and entertains my son for hours.
