I purchased this book for my son who is 8. The experiments are fun and educational and an explanation of "why" is included at the end. The instructions are easy to follow and are accompanied with a colored picture of the result. The experiments he has done required very little supervision from me. They were not overly time consuming which made it easier to hold his attention. The items used were mostly household items and the ones that I didn't have on hand weren't hard to find at the store. Most of the experiments he tried worked with desired results, maybe not as well as the one in the picture, but hey that's science!!

I purchased this as a gift for my son's 7th birthday. He has recently expressed a strong interest in science. He was very excited about the book of experiments, and I am equally excited to share the joy of discovery and science with him. The instructions are clear, easy to read, understand and follow. The pictures accompanying each step of the experiment are helpful, and the explanations of the outcomes seem age-appropriate for my son. It is colorful and enticing, makes use of around-the-home items for the experiments, and seems to be a fun and educational way to connect with my child.

This was a gift for our 7 hear old grandson. He is interested in science and excited to have a book that used things he could find in his home.
