I purchased this book for my son who is 8. The experiments are fun and educational and an explanation of "why" is included at the end. The instructions are easy to follow and are accompanied with a colored picture of the result. The experiments he has done required very little supervision from me. They were not overly time consuming which made it easier to hold his attention. The items used were mostly household items and the ones that I didn't have on hand weren't hard to find at the store. Most of the experiments he tried worked with desired results, maybe not as well as the one in the picture, but hey that's science!!

This is a great book of experiments to get kids interested in science! It uses simple household items/materials in creative experiments that really grab the attention of young kids.
