I found this paint very hard to work with. It was thick and would cake up on the rollers and fly all over the room. We did an entire room (3 coats on each wall), but even using rare earth magnets nothing really holds to the walls. Possibly due to the several coats of paint needed to cover the black magnetic paint... The paint definitely didn't live up to our expectations.

Even after having this paint professionally mixed/shaken, it goes on extremely thick and rough. I don't think that this is a normal primer, nor that you would be able to paint over it and the wall will look like any other painted surface. It will likely be very uneven and rough. Worse, after 2 coats it will only hold magnets alone without anything (like paper) between the magnet and the wall. In other words, you need several additional coats to make it do the job it is intended to do. Disappointing.

I used this paint to primer the entire bottom half of my son's room - then painted a landscape design over the magnetic paint. It was easy to use although can be a little thick at times. The finished product was well worth the effort as I watched my 3 year old son and 1 year old daughter squeal with delight as things stuck to the wall. I also bought the magnetic foam letters and it is a blast to watch my son teach my daughter names of letters. My husband also loves to play in his son's room too.

It does do its job as far as magnetism is concerned. The color is uneven after 3 coats and I am thinking about doing another coat to see if it will even out.
