My four-year old daughter has been having a blast with this. She asks to play magnets every day now.

I gave this to my 5 year old for her birthday. She is just fascinated. She is finding endless possibilities for playing with and using these magnets. Do keep them away from the little ones, though.

Very First Magnet Kit

I am a home/hospital teacher and needed materials for my student who is in third grade. He is fascinated with magnets and I was hoping that the two rectangular magnets (one is a wand) would be able to show him that unlike poles attract and like poles repel. That was a bit of a challenge. Other than that, for a first magnet kit, it had a nice variety of materials for teaching some basic concepts of magnetism.

Nice product

The ONLY thing I would change is to make the items to be picked up by the magnets inside a bit larger. I bought these for 3+ year olds. They will be fine, but each now has a sibling under the age of one year. I am somewhat concerned about giving this product as a gift as they have small swallowable parts. Is there any way you could make the pick-up parts larger, i.e. flatter and too big for a mouth, ears, or nose. I am giving these anyway and letting the parents worry about the problem, as they will probably be supervised when they use them anyway, but I would suggest in the future you think about other sibs in the house. You have a lot of nice things, and I can't wait for the kids to get older.
