It's not so much that this is a toy my son plays with frequently, but it is very much on his radar, and he checks the pot to see how the sprouts are doing regularly. We planted five seeds a week ago, and all of them had sprouted--ALL!--within five days. They are now over 3 inches tall, which is amazing. Planting kits don't always manage to grow, much less grow so quickly, so I feel good about recommending this to others. The instructions are easy to follow, and all the materials are sustainable.
