We needed a way to cover our wood floor underneath an open playpen and chose to get these mats. We've tried airing them out and it still has strong chemical odor.
We contacted our customer. The off-beat odor was due to quick shipment immediately after manufacture. The smell is not toxic in any way; Edu Tiles play mats are fully safety tested. Typically, the mats air dry in the manufacturing facility. If a scent is noticable, the mats may stay the night in your garage or another out-of-the-way location. The scent will be undetectable after a few days. Let us know if you'd rest more easily with a replacement or refund. Your satisfaction is what mat-ters most!
