The globe is so beautiful, and when plugged in it is even more spectacular. The only down side is the writing is a little hard to see on the globe.

Review of Celestial 8 inch Globe

A big disappointment. This was going to be a gift. When I saw what it was we put in for a return and found a gift elsewhere. The description and picture made it appear to be more than it was. The price certainly made us think it was going to be a grand gift. It was little more than a basic globe that in the dark shows some star patterns. (Note from Fat Brain Toys: If a purchase from Fat Brain Toys doesn't leave you starry eyed with appreciation, please visit our Returns & Exchanges center. At light speed, we gladly & promptly issued our customer a refund for the celestial globe.)

A gift for my children ages, twin boys 7 and boy 5 1/2. They are very curious about the world and space. I feel this globe gives them a visual idea of the world and they love the constellations at night. They have used it for homework and also for their own kowledege by looking at a country they never heard of and researching it. I have recommended this item to a few friends with children of the same ages and so far, everyone is impressed with the quality for the price.
