Challenging to master, but when you get it right, it's quite thrilling. Wish there were even a larger selection of weights (washers) in the kit to make micro-adjustments easier.

Initially challenging to adjust properly, but once it was set up my 6 year-old grandaughter was able to levitate it on her 3rd try. Overall, it is very entertaining and fun for all who have given it a try. I highly recommend it.

It is hard to call the Levitron a toy because it defies normal magnetic prencebles but is fun for young and old alike . This toy has good qualty build and design.I have had mine for one week and still have a hard time puting it away.

Well, it' s like this. My wife won't let me play with it because it is a Christmas gift for someone else. I have no way to rate it because it is still in the box. Totally un-played with. Bummer.

This toy is very difficult to set up to make operational. The manual not very useful. The self-starter tool is very useful for beginners. It is very smart to include in 'combo' package.

The Levitron is one of the most amazing demonstrations of magnetic forces I have ever seen. It's a hypnotic toy that's a study in stability, gravity, and magnetic repulsion that borders on magic. Great fun and rich with physics - a great buy all around.
I was; however, disappointed that my purchase (based on the web item description) did not include the self-starter and instructional CD-ROM as promised. After a call to ToyMagnet.com they have shipped my self-starter, but the instructional CD-ROM is still not part of the purchase as advertised.
My excitement over this great product is tempered by the somewhat misleading description of what was included, and so I give the overall purchase a middle of the road review.

I think there should be more said on how difficult it is for first time users, especially children. It is, however, well worth it. It is amazing!

It was difficult to get the magnet to levitate. The battery operated spinner really helped. My students spent many enjoyable hours trying to problem solve and get it to levitate. It was especially challenging since there is a picture of it in our science textbook.

It took a while to get the right fit in order to work the Levitron, but once we got it, it was a lot of fun. It does appear easier to manually spin the top rather than use the battery operated gadget.

Dear Madams and Sirs, I am a researcher in physics at Texas A&M University, and my attention was drawn to this very nice toy some time ago in a scientific toy shop. I found it so entertaining and as well educating that my boss and I decided to use it as a prize for a physics quiz within our "Saturday Morning Physics" program for high school students. I liked the marketing idea that included the top starter within the Levitron Omega Platinum Pro packaging. This simplified ordering. The Levitron itself is amazing, My grand-children enjoy playing with it for endless hours. I was very impressed with the speed of delivery of my order.

It's a delightful toy and more than a little addictive. My only complaint, and it's a faint one, is that it is very infrequent that one is able to actually keep the top levitated in a stable way. However, this challenge only makes one want to keep trying. It's a little like playing slot machines, I would imagine.

You want to know if the levitron is worth it? Are you kidding me? I think it's awesome! I will buy another one as a collector's piece. It does take time to get it to work but that is because there are a few variables that influence its operation such as temperature. When you realize this, you really begin to appreciate what the inventor went through to develop it. It does work! It is truly amazing! You can quote me on that!

Much improved over the older models. Leveling legs are the best improvement. Design is nice. Works as claimed. Fun scientific toy - highly recommended !

Great toy! It took me a while to get it up and running, but it was awesome to see once it stayed floating on air. The Perpetuator is one fine piece of equipment, when I got the top floating with the Perpetuator activated (my first try), it levitated the whole night! When I woke up the next morning, the still floating top just put a smile on my face!
Customer service was topnotch. Thanks Kim for the quick exchange!

I really enjoy the levitron. It's pretty amazing, especially when you can put your hands all the way around it while it's just floating in the air, it's unbeleivable. I would highly recommend it.

I bought this as gift for my son. He specifically requested this for Christmas and was very impressed. After properly calibrating the weight of the top and balance of the base, the top floats on a magnetic cushion that is truly amazing. The top can stay suspended several inches above the base for several minutes. The unit I purchased included the self starter, which I recommend using to get the top spinning correctly. Getting everything just right for a good spin can take some time, so be patient. Fat Brain was great to do business with. Very quick and efficient.

This is an amazing toy (if you can call it that). Is is worth every cent I paid for it. It has made everyone that has see it in action, wonder about this and other unseen forces in our Universe. At first it took me about two hours to get it going (it was all in the weights) after that its a snap. Now I can set it up anywhere I want to and get it going in approximately fifteen minutes. I think I could have mastered the Levitron sooner if I had taken my time to read the instructions. One important thing I learned was: to leave a small space (1/16") between the weights and the small black rubber band that keeps the weights from falling off.
