The product works as described. I went to bed with the top spinning and when I checked it out in the morning it was still going. I did find it was tougher to balance the top using the perpetuator as opposed to when I used the levitron without the perpetuator. The perpetuator comes with adjusting screws to change the leveling. The ability of the top to stay levitated is linked directly to the environment. As the temperature changed I needed to adjust the weights. I recommend getting the starter along with the perpetuator. Once I began using the perpetuator the additional electromagnetic forces made it impossible for me to spin the top manually.

Levitron Perpetuator

The Levitron Perpetuator works great with my new Platinum Pro Levitron. It was relatively easy to get it to levitate the Platinum Pro top continuously for 3 days before a temperature change of about 5 or 6 degrees caused the top to destabilize and fall. Without the Perpetuator, the Levitron top will only float for about 2 to 3 minutes. I would strongly recommend to anyone who gets a new Levitron to consider seriously getting the Perpetuator. It really does what it advertises! I do, however, have one caveat about the Perpertuator I have not been able to make it work with an old original Levitron I purchased about 10 years ago. The old levitron has weaker magnets in the base and the top. I have tried putting books of various thicknesses between the Perpetuator and the old levitron base, but so far nothing has worked for me. However, I have had no problem making the Perpetuator work with the newer Levitron model.

The Perpetuator is working fine, though using it with my Cherry Levitron is a challenge as the Perpetuator is smaller than the footprint of the Levitron.

The Perpetuator is a must have for anyone with a Levitron. It does take some practice to get everything aligned correctly, but once it is it floats for a very long time.

Awesome! Once properly aligned with the levitron base, it's just as easy to levitate the top as without the perpertuator. The top actually levitated for 3 hours before I had to leave the office. This EM-driver rocks!

I bought this for use with the Cherrywood Levitron. Although the base isn't made specifically for this Levitron model, I was able to center the levitron and used a pencil to make small markings on the Perpetuator showing where the brass feet should go. Longest spin time so far is 9 hours... had to turn it off before I left the office.

Perpetuator incompatible with CherryWood Levitron

I bought the perpetuator in the same order as the CherryWood Levitron. The Perpetuator is obviously not made for the CherryWood Levitron. To make it work I had to remove the three legs from the Levitron. There are four indentations on the top of the Perpetuator presumably to fit the feet of a different Levitron model. Thus the alignment of the Levitron on top of the Perpetuator becomes yet another variable to adjust in order to get the top to spin. I did get the top going and it went for about an hour.
The black plastic box and the electric cord (and the removal of the brass legs) really takes away from the elegance of the CherryWood Levitron. I stopped using it.

I am able to sustain the top for over an hour , if the system is level and kept level. I think it is a fantastic item and FatBrain has the best price for it. A++++++
