A real ball!
Posted 9/24/2008 by Christina Turner

Setting: Home

People were actually getting in line to play with this toy at my son's third birthday party.
Pros:
Enough pieces to get started
You don't have to only use this brand's blocks to build and make experiments. You can hook it up with a set of your own dominoes, or shoot balls into a Bilibo, or your own drum. You can even use your own marbles.
Blocks are nicely sanded and will definitely last.
No finish to worry about lead or whatever with.
Cons:
The longer manual/experiment guide that came with it was sadly in german, although you get the idea. There is a "shorter" 42 page guide with terse explanations in french and english.
We got two of the add ons and in one, a marble was chipped (the force of the solid blocks and glass marbles probably isn't going to work out for every box.) Just look at your stuff before you give it to your kid, especially if they're a toddler still.
All in all, we really like the set and look forwards to continuing to play with it, and add to it over the years.

Ball Track Construction Set

My grandson is 3 years old. I purchased Quadrilla for him to play with when he visits me. He loves the marble maze but this one is a bit over his head. I read some of the reviews of the Haba Ball and Construction Set on your site. It appeared to be a toy more within my grandson's reach. My son reports he absolutely loves it. My grandson gave me a personal invitation to his home to help him play with it! I am delighted with the purchase. I'm glad I do not have to worry about it containing lead.

Ball Track Construction Set Review

The blocks seem to be of very good construction. My grandsons and I put a few simple sets together so they could get the idea of how the set works. We were able to set it up so the marble would slide down then ring the bell as it rolled off. They seemed to enjoy that the most. It seemed easy enough but lacked direction about how to build more involved marble runs. It also seemed that there were too few pieces that the marbles could run on.

My son is loves the Ball Track Construction Set. He was unsure at first, but each time he plays with it, he learns new ways to create. I can see him using problem solving skills each time the set comes out. I think this will be one of those toys that grows with him. I am not sure who is having more fun with it, him or my husband.

My kids and I love to play with this! It is well made and fun. However, some of the blocks were rough and jagged edges.

Last year we bought Quadrilla for our children which they loved. For the most part they need our help to assemble the structures. The Ball Track Construction Set does not have set ways it has to be put together, which is more creative and satisfying for our children. It's a great toy, we highly recommend.

the wooden ball track constuction set looks like it should last a long time in my preschool. the children gravitate towards it everyday since it came into our school. Wooden toys like this are what I buy because they last forever.
