Delightful and Captivating Toy

I purchased this Stacking Ball Colori for my 5-month old son. He is sitting up on his own and loves to swat the ball around in his Springtime Kids playgym (also from Haba). On his back, he rolls the ball across his tummy and "catches" it with all four limbs up in the air. Lying on his tummy, the ball rolls away and ecourages him to scoot forward. The vivid and contrasting colors really captivate, and in the crib our little one has been caught gazing quietly at the ball. He is a little young for the stacking, so we're saving that dimension of the toy for a surprise - or for him to discover on his own - a little later. This stacking ball is of the same high-quality of Haba's other toys. It's easy to love a toy that brings delight to a child, and it's even better when it's so well-made, attractive and battery-free!

I purchased 2 of these as gifts for my friends' babies - one is 3 months old, the other is due to be born in ~1 month. I picked this toy out based on my experience with my now-3-year-old son. The ball is well-constructed, and the materials are appropriate for a baby's use. My friend's daughter clearly enjoyed the tactile sensations; she also was very engaged with the jingly & crinkly sounds it made. I expect once she's a few months older & has greater hand-eye coordination, she'll start to pull the pieces apart & explore them.
