In theory, this should have worked... But the ledge was too shallow to hold a book securely, so books don't stay open easily.

The Peeramid Bookrest is lightweight, comfortable, and sturdy when used with the majority of books. It works well for many people. However, if you are not 100% satisfied with your Peeramid Bookrest, or any Fat Brain Toy, please return the item for a refund or a gift certificate.

The bookrest has been great for my Mom who reads in bed. She can't really set it in the "track" and read hands free, but you can set the book against the bookrest and easily keep the book in place with one hand resting on the bottom.

Clever Bookrest

The design is quite clever. I did not realize it had little pockets on the side, but that is a definite plus. The material cleans quite easily (I tend to read a book while I eat lunch and can be a bit clumsy). The overall construction of the bookrest seems quite durable as far as the stitching and dense stuffing. I would have liked a bigger color selection, but other than that I quite pleased. My six-year-old son also enjoys using the bookrest when reading in bed before he goes to sleep. Anything that helps and encourages young children to read books bigger than their little hands is a good investment.

Bookrest for adult

I purchased the book rest for my husband who loves to read in bed. He loves the book rest. The quality is fantastic. It is well made and more importantly, being soft and light there is no risk of injury. I looked at several "book rest stands" made of wood before purchasing this book rest. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PURCHASE. Thank you.

Very nicely desinged. Comtemporary pattern is nice for teenagers. Easy to store.
Great for old-fashioned book (as physical object) nerds!

I'm a graduate student working on my thesis and the Peeramid is great for multitasking between the book (the physical object) and my laptop. It also makes a great rest for the book's future iteration: my iPad!
I'm only disappointed that its base pockets are not wide enough to hold my larger hardcover books. Also, softcover books need to have their spines broken in order to stay upright. Otherwise, the Peeramid makes a wonderful gift for (e)book nerds.

This was for an adult to use for reading in bed or at a desk. It is helpful in making reading more comfortable.
