Go Fly a Kite!
Posted 9/3/2006 by Steven Hoyte

Rating:

This kite is truly fun. It needs a good breeze to get going but once airborne it spins with joy! I would have rated it 5 stars but after the second flight the attachment that holds the flight line came off and had to be re-glued. No problems after that. When it is flying a 150' in the air it spins with the wind. The faster the breeze, the quicker the spin. It flies easily and does not tug or pull strongly. My 4 year old grandaugher held on to it easily and enjoyed doing so.

Very Cool Kite

The kite is a lot of fun. Even my 6 year old was able to get if off the ground. It is fun to watch and spin. It does need a fairly steady strong wind.

A Good Looking Kite

This kite takes about 2 minutes to assemble and looks very good. I flew it in about 10 MPH of very stable winds on the beach. It flew well and rotated about once per second under these conditions. I'm glad I bought it and consider it a good addition to my collection of kites.

Great kite. Just a couple of complaints. End cap on center rod is not secure. Fell off after the first use so we'll have to try to find a way to keep it on before we fly it again. Also wish that a swivel had been included.

This kite is great! A little confusing to put together, but it flew very easily and stayed up.

Very Different

This kite flies very lightly even in a high wind. It take a high steady wind to keep it stable. I live on Galveston Island and had to wait for just the right wind to get it aloft and keep it there. Very pretty and a real attention getter in the air. As usual your service was superb.

First Box Kite
Posted 5/3/2005 by Kirk, Texas

Rating:

I have never owned a box kite before, and I had not flown a kite since I was a boy. I now have a young son of my own, and I wanted a unique kite that our family could enjoy on afternoons in the park. I shopped for a kite that would be memorable for my son, so that he would have fond memories of our family outings. The Roto Box Kite was perfect for our family especially since I am a novice flyer. The kite is sturdy and easy to assemble. It comes with a carrying case and can be rapidly disassembled and stowed away in between flights. It is durable and far surpases the quality of the kites that I had as a boy. It's gentle rotation and colorful display capture my son's attention (and the attention of many passers-by). Best of all, when we go out and fly it, my son sees it in the air and excitedly points it out to his mother! All together, I have had quite a positive experience with this kite and would recommend it highly to anyone wanting a unique kite to share with family and friends.

One string loosened on main rib coming disconnected on one side. no major malfunction recorded in air. needs open air area and higher wind to perform.

So far no luck getting it launched, seems to require a pretty stiff breeze to have any chance at all. Plan to keep trying. Build quality seems good. The wing panels are angled opposite to the above photo, possible mfg. error limiting flight?

I saw someone flying this kite at the beach and I had to have it. Fortunately I found it at your site. It is very easy to assemble and looks great.
