Stomp Rocket Parachute

Setting: Home

I previously bought my sons the Stomp Rocket Jr. which is just styrofoam rockets on the same base as this product. The rockets in this product are plastic and you attach a piece of styrofoam to the top. I was worried that if it hit someone in the head from the height it is launched to that they would get hurt. Also, there were no instructions in the package as to how to assemble the rockets with the parachutes on them. I had to look at the pictures to figure it out. In less than five minutes, one of the parachutes came unattached from the ball and I had to throw it away. Then I could not figure out how to wrap the parachute around the rocket as shown in the pictures on the box. When launched with the ball sitting on the top of the rocket in the styrofoam tube, the parachute would fall off immediately, the highest we ever got the parachute was 1 foot off the ground. I was highly disappointed.

The rocket is great, but the parachutes really don't work all that well. Having said that, my son still loves to play with it.

There were no instructions on how to operate this toy. The parachute itself got tangled and was hard to use.

fun but not so high parachute

I got this parachute for my nephew as a gift. He just turned eleven, he has enjoyed it but wishes it would go higher. I have watched him play with it and I felt like it went rather high approximately eight feet from the ground. I think he was envisioning it going up to about fifteen feet or so. You have to jump on a propeller and he keeps jumping seeing how high he can get it the next time. Which is good because it gives him lots of exercise. I wonder what would happen if an adult jumped on it. Maybe it would go even higher! It's worth getting and seeing for yourself!

This was a gift and their parents report that it is a big success--they absolutely love playing and challenging each other. Overall, I rate this a 5 star because it is fun, teaches a little introduction to physics, and encourages physical exercise. What more could you ask for?

This toy has been a neighborhood hit! The kids ranging from 7-13 have had a blast running the rocket down, trying to catch it, seeing who can get it higher, and watching it fly....
