Fun!
Posted 5/1/2007 by Patrick Mccormick

Rating:

This kite is really a lot of fun. Really fast, easy to handle, well constructed, and it came with everything I needed to start flying the same day. It has a fair amount of pull (you need to lean back a little when it gets into the wind's "power zone"), but not as much as I'd like. Basically this is a great kite for a true novice. It would be great and safe for kids. If you're looking for something to really give you a work-out, maybe drag you down the beach a bit, I'd go for something bigger! Good product though. My only complaint would be the quality of the flying lines. They're definitely not as good as the lines that come with Prism kites.

Rock Solid Stunt Kite!
Posted 2/15/2007 by Matt K.

Rating:

The Symphony 1.8 is an outstanding beginner to intermediate level kite. HQ German engineering ensures that the kite handles sharply, is responsive, and easy to pick up for any level stunt kiter. Constructed of Ripstop Nylon, the symphony 1.8 is virtually indestructable. For it's size it's remarkably fast, and in higher level winds can generate some serious pull. This is the second 1.8 I've had. The first one provided nearly three years of solid kiting madness, I ended up tearing one of the cells on a cactus at Enchanted Rock State Park. Were it not for that, I bet the kite would still be going strong. If you're looking to get into stunt kiting, or even if you're already a kiter and are just looking for an excellent airfoil, The symphony 1.8, for the money, is quite likely the best kite you can buy. The 1.8 comes ready-to-fly, is well constructed, easy to use, stores in a small fanny pack, and is in all respects a phenomenal kite. I strongly recommend it to anyone serious about stunt kiting!

First parafoil I have owned, but not first stunt kite. A blast to fly! More pull and maneuverability than expected. Handles well in light winds, too. My wife likes it better than other stunt kites, too. Will be great this summer when we can pack it up small and throw it in the beach bag on our way to Lake Michigan.

Hang On

Ididn't know what to expect on my first flight and when I went for the first power zone flight I thought I would take extra precautions and lean back a little. well I wasn't leaning back far enough. The kite has more pull than you think.

The service was Excellent. I'm a little disapointed in the performance of the kite. I believe this to be related to my expectation not the kites quality.
