wedgits expansion combo set
Posted 12/10/2010 by Jenny C

Rating:

my kids (ages 5 and 3) love the wedgits. they've been laying all over our house. I do think that having more wedgits encourages them to be more creative with it. I got the deluxe, the expansion set, as well as an imagination set with several of the stix. my kids aren't very good about trying to follow directions or a set idea of what to make (ie when I tried to have them make a robot). however, they make very creative use- my son who is learning about relative weights has used the black/ silver expansion parts as balances, and he and his friend take these also and use as play swords in their pirate games (since I don't buy them any real swords). overall, I think it's a great creativity stimulator

My grandson comes over, pretty often, so I keep the wedget blocks at my house. So thats the first thing goes for. He was five at the time, now that he`s six years old I`ve added more to it. Now my other grandson and my grand daughter wants them, so I`ll be ordering more. That will for christmas!

This was a great addition, my son loves having both sets. Making robots was his favorite! We really enjoy this product and have had a great time as a family building things with them.

We love wedgits and this set allows us to make alot more types of items then before. We have only used it once and haven't yet made arms and legs. Wedgits are the type of toy that my kids won't play with all the time but every few months pull it out and do something new, cool, and different.

My kids (4 and 7 years old) have loved Wedgits for years. This expansion set lets them create a lot more and makes it possible to do the designs on most, if not all, the card sets. It's a great toy for a wide range of ages because you can easily make the designs/games easy or very difficult.

unlock creativity

I thought my granddaughter would be turned off by the grey and black colors....I had previously purchased the pink wedgits...but instead she looked at the expansion combo and immediatley her little brain took off and she came up with so many sculptures. I explained to her what an architect was . She beamed a smile at me and said that would be fun!! A great product to unlock creativity

The WEDGiTS with expansions and building cards were a gift for my 5 year old grandson. I had seen him playing with them at his Montessori grandparent day and observed how much he enjoyed the challenges of constructing the pattern from the card. I was delighted to find that I could purchase a packet of cards with many more challenges, and he has been busy building ever since he received the gifts. The building platforms are great for keeping the work in one place, and he can return to it anytime to complete.

Our children have really enjoyed the Wedgits and we are hoping that they will enjoy the expansion set as well. They seem curious about it and have tried to make new creations. Now that the holidays are over we hope to have more time to play it with them. We find that if you get a toy you would like to play with, then you are more likely to play with your child and the new toy.

The expansion set adds another dimension to the set that helps to keep the Wedgits interesting for my 7 year old. Although I thought this expansion set was a bit expensive for the few pieces you receive, the quality is excellent, and the children love them.

I purchased this for use as an occupational therapist. We have another set, but not the expansion pieces and the book of things to do with the wedgits was new to me. The book is interesting, but not outstanding. The toy itself is excellent for teaching visual spactial, sequential, and fine motor manipulation skills.

Excellent idea for building. Only complaint I have is that with the Wheels in Motion set. I wish there was more instruction on how to build all the vehicles shown on the box, not just the basic frame.

Best Thing I've Bought In A Long Time

I bought my six-year-old son a smaller set of Wedgits that included design cards, and he immediately wanted to create the forms that required this expansion set. He is not that much of a "builder," but absolutely loves wedgits, both trying to match the pictures on the design cards and coming up with his own designs. I'm sure I will buy more.

There were not as many parts as I thought, but my students have already made creative structures with the set. They absolutely love the Wedgits products.

Kids Love WEDGiTS
Posted 6/28/2007 by P.J. Patterson

Rating:

Wedgits are such a simple and straightforward toy, and yet allow for very complex combinations and designs to interested young and old alike. My 2-year-old daughter loves them, just as a simple stacking toy. My 6-year-old loves to try to make the designs in the booklets, or to make tall towers. My wife and I sit on the floor and try to make the more complicated designs that require anchoring and wedging techniques. The whole family can enjoy Wedgits together. Only problem is, we keep finding we don't have enough pieces!

Expanding The Wedgits Deluxe Set
Posted 2/17/2007 by Thuy D Bui

Rating:

The Expansion set did not add a lot for my 5 years old. He ended up using it as a stick or sword with his friends. In the end, I think it's a bit pricey for what you get.

I am a kindergarten teacher and was looking for something that would engage my kids during creative play. I saw the Wedgits and read the reviews and decided to give them a try. They are a huge hit - all the kids beg to be in the Wedgits group for creative play time! Super product. I will recommend them to upper grades for teaching math concepts as well.

Great Toy for Developing Math Skills!
Posted 8/14/2006 by Michelle Nelson-Archer

Rating:

My boys (3 and 5) have been playing with Wedgits for several years now. I have been amazed at how long they keep their attention and how frequently they want to play with them. As the boys get older, their structures become more advanced. The toy is adaptable to any age. When they asked for more Wedgits to build better towers I immediately ordered more. I highly recommend them for any age and for boys and girls.
