I work as a clinical social worker and play therapist, so I purchased this for my play therapy room. However, my children ages 6 and 9 usually "test" the toys before I take them to work and this is one toy that won't leave our house! Both children love playing with the Boogie Board and I love that they are so creative with it. I will be ordering two more for Christmas because I will snag the Boogie Board for my work! This will be great to use when working with kids in therapy because we can draw or write and then erase - using it as a metaphor for a "clean slate".

This is a great product and my children just love it. The only downside is that when you erase you have to erase it entirely and can't save part of your writing. Also I know there is a new Boogie Board RIP now on the market in which you can download up to 200 drawings, writings, etc... but it is 3X the price. My kids enjoy it but it seems like a glorified magna doodle. Also it only has 50,000 erases and then it is no longer good.

This is one of the best purchases I've ever made. Love it! As for the reviewers that said it should have a save feature or light up in the dark...etc. This is not a tablet or a smart phone. The fact that I am comforable letting my 5 yr old run off with it or take it to grandmom's unattended is because it is simple and less expensive because it is what it is. I am also not in the habit of buying a toaster and complaining that it's not big enough for a pizza :P Also, I love that it does not require power to keep the drawn picture displayed. It only uses a tiny bit of power to clear the screen. So my son can draw and leave it 'til he's ready to erase even if that's not 'til the next day when he wants to draw another picture. I never worry about him leaving it on and running down the battery like I do with his other electronics...Ah, blissful peace of mind :)

This boogie board writing tablet is awesome!! I am a mother of 4 boys(ages 3-15) and they writing on this. We use it all the time. Great to practice spelling words on, just make it a little more fun. I cant say enough good about this product. Great for All ages!! I wonder if some day they will come out with a screen protector for it??

The drawings that are made on the tablet are not very sharp or bright. The drawings that are made are dim. But what is put on the tablet is easily erased. No mess. And Eco friendly. Not what I thought I was getting and the price is high but my brother enjoyed it the few times he played with it.

I bought two of these. One for my 9 year old daughter and one for my seven year old daughter. The 9 year old uses this all the time. She loves to just sit and write words and stories and draw pictures. We were going through so much paper because she would just sit and fill up sheets. We make sure to take it with us when they need to stay quiet. My 7 year old doesn't use it as much but it is great to get her to practice her spelling words. She shares hers with her five year old brother who also loves to use it.

I purchased two of these. One for an 8 year old and one for a 4 year old, both girls. Both seemed happy with the gift when they got it. To me it didn't look as good as on the site. One was much dimmer than the other. We'll see as time goes on how much interest they keep.

Giving it to my son for Christmas but when I bought it my 12 year old played with in the store for over 1/2 hour. I bought one for her too for Christmas. I got it for him to practice spelling words. I got it for her to use as scratch paper for math problems. Both can use it in the car as a travel toy. I don't think we will be disappointed.

I got a pink boogie board for my 7 yr old daughter who loves to use it to practice spelling and draw creatively. These boards are soooo cool! It is wonderful that we can so easily take it with us wherever we go and it stays protected in the nice cover. My just four year old son was always wanting to 'borrow' his sisters, so I just purchased a second one in black for him. He loves practicing his letters and is especially excited because he just learned how to write his name. Best 'toy'! Worth every penny!

this gift was given to my 9 year old grandson at a group dinner celebrating 3 birthdays. the other members were all adults and the food and conversation was not geared to a child. he played with this toy for the entire time and was thoroughly involved. This was a gift for my son, and he's only had it for one day, but so far, it is a big hit! He loves to play hangman, draw and practice his cursive writing, so we were using a lot of paper. This will be much better. I like that it is very thin and lightweight-easy to carry around. I wish there was a place to store the stylus, but otherwise, this is super. My family has asked where I got it so they can get one too.

I am returning this item because it cannot save different items, print, nor download onto a memory stick or computer. My granddaugter loves to write stories and songs, and I was hoping that this could happen. I will wait for the next model, maybe these features will be part of it.

Love this! My girls are 7 & 9 and still play with the old "magnadoodle" type toy and thought this would be a good upgrade. They can doodle on it all day and have done some of their math homework on it. I goes in the car and I imagine this summer it will go camping with us. Nice product!

My almost six-year old daughter loves to steal pieces of paper from my desk, so I thought this might be a good idea for her. She has really enjoyed writing and drawing on this tablet. The only feature that I wish this had was a clip to keep the stylus handy. I am afraid that she'll eventually lose it if it isn't attached.

Lot's of fun. Our six and ten year old boys each got one and are on them frequently, doodling. A definate hit. It's similar to the magna doodle (same concept) but with more control and precision.

My daughter loves to draw and goes threw way to much paper. So I saw this and had to get it for her. Its already cracked from to having to many kids over and it was forgotten about so it didnt get put up but it still works good. The only thing I would complain about is no place for the stylus pen. My daughter will lose it quickly which is why I ordered 2 replacement ones. Now we definetly are not going threw as much paper.

When I saw the product on your website it looked really interesting. The color seemed really bright. Since I work in a school system with special needs children, and lots of writing issues I thought this would be great. But once I got the product I was disappointed, when you use the stylist the strokes you make are very light, the erase button doesn't always work on the first push, in fact maybe not even on the second. I definitely don't think it was worth the $ dollars. I feel the description is over exaggerated for what you end up getting.

Our granddaughter got one of the boogie boards for her birthday and all of our other grandkids wanted it too. We decided to get one for our grandson who just turned 16 and loves to draw. He played it when we gave it to him and when we left, he was still playing with it. It was a big hit and it doesn't seem to matter on the age. Our grandkids range from 16-5 months and all but the baby wanted their turn to play with it!

This is a really great toy! The writing appears lighter than I thought it would, but still shows up nicely. It easily erases with the push of a button. The kids fight over who gets it next.

My 5-year-old grandson loved his Boogie Board and hasn't put it down a couple of weeks later. He writes, draws, and does math on the tablet-like screen. The touch button erases the screen with little effort, which is great for kids. I was concerned that he pressed on the screen heavily with the stylus, but the screen appears to be rugged enough. The only drawback to the Boogie Board was my 2-year-old granddaughter liked it so much, I had to get her one, too. She loves the pink casing with flowers on her board, which is also a big hit.

This is such a fun writing tablet. We purchased this item for our 12 year old son to do his math homework on. It has been such a hit with our family everyone leaves messages on it. Our 18 yr old daughter liked it so much she asked for one for her birthday. She uses it in her dorm room at college to leave messages for friends/roommates when she steps out. All of her friends love to leave messages on it as well.

I have to admit I bought this for myself. I work from home a bit and always jotting little bits of information down to use for a couple minutes & throwing paper away. This has helped get rid of my little scraps of paper. But, my kids love it too! (of course!) It is great that I can carry this in my purse and let them play with it. I don't worry about them changing a setting or breaking it. Also, if I leave it behind somewhere, I won't be out of a ton of money.

My daughter loved the tablet. She would not put it down for a week. My only suggestion is that they could have it write in a few colors. She got bored with just writing with one color very quickly.

Wasn't impressed. When I first saw this toy online I thought I might want one for myself. However, when we received it it was broken. The erase button wouldn't work, so we returned it. I also was concerned about the longevity of it. It felt super flimsy and the writing wasn't clear on it. Also the stylus is not attached, making it likely to be lost. In short we weren't upset it was defective; we doubt we would have enjoyed it in perfect working order.

We purchased this item at Christmas for our son and ended up buying one for our daughter a month later. She is a college student and uses it to leave messages for her roommate. I read all the reviews and they were very high, so I had high expectations. And for $[]! Here's the deal...my daughter also got a locker-sized white board with 3 colored markers. The markers had magnets on them so they couldn't get lost. The Boogie Board doesn't have a spot to hold the stylist so after day 3 of losing it, it is now useless. Also, you can't change the color of the writing - everything is gray. That's fine if it is pencil on paper but this is an LCD screen, shouldn't there be at least 3 color choices? I like how lightweight it is and small (unlike the magna doodle or white board) but I won't be ordering any more until some enhancements are made.

I bought this for three family members (2 university aged sons and my husband) and I wasn't really sure if they'd like it. My oldest son opened it first and everyone else oh-ed and ah-ed. My husband opened his and started playing with it immediately. Later I cleared it and doodled on it, then posted it on the fridge. With the magnets on the back which allows it to go on the fridge, we'll use it for notes and lists. Also, we play a lot of board and card games, so we'll use it for scoring and jotting notes. It seems well designed, and it's fun to use. The stylus attaches to the top of the board and the stylus holder can slide over the "clear" button to you don't accidentally erase what's on the board.

The product is a very good idea, but in my opinion, is poorly executed. The display is very dim, to the point of being very hard to see. I would be very intrigued to see an upgraded model, even at a higher price that has a better display. The idea is very sound and in fact my wife wanted one as well, but once we saw the relative dimness if the display, we opted to return the items.

We go through a lot of paper at my house. My daughter is constantly drawing. There is always paper everywhere so I'm hopeful that this will atleast solve half of it. I love that it's environmentally friendly and saves a lot of paper. I do kinda wish that there was a way to hook it up to the computer so she can save her drawings.

This tablet screen isn't bright enough. The writing is very drab and can hardly see it. The push button to delete entire screen is nice. Overall, this product is not worth the money. I bought these for kids and I doubt they will be impressed.

I bought this for one grandchild, but everyone loved it so had to buy more. Easy to use and fun. This is a great product for a message board as well. Will have to get one form my husband to take phone messages.

My 8 year old daughter loves the Boogie Board, and will not leave it alone! She has a couple of dry erase boards that she used to practice writing, making temporary art, and writing notes to me. She was forever losing the markers (or letting them dry out), they were kind of messy, and if you accidentally rubbed up against them, they erased a little too easily. The Boogie Board solves all of these problems -- we also picked up the cover which includes a place for the pen. Encourages creativity! Can be used for everything from writing jokes to practicing spelling words.

My 5 year old and even my 14 year old love to doodle, draw and practice writing name, letters and numbers, I may even get one for my classroom! Easy to use and stimulates creativity

I bought this for my sons for Christmas so they haven't used it yet but they are 4 and 5. I thought it would be great in the car sine they love to be doing an activity and my car won't get littered with paper. However, I also bought one as a birthday gift for a 10 year old. I thought I was buying something she would have never seen but when she opened it, her face lit up and she immediately told her Mom what it was. She was thrilled and so was I to buy her something she likes. She has everything so it is sometimes hard to pick a gift. One downfall...I wish it could "save" your work...or at least a certain number of pages....seems like a high tech "etch-a-sketch.". I definitely see how it is appropriate for many ages...

My daughter is hard to buy for as she never knows what she wants for her birthday. I purchased this on a whim. She's not one to draw, but she likes to doodle. Her older sister told me, "I want one." It doesn't light up so it is hard to see in low light. The pen doesn't attach in anyway so it's easy to misplace. Overall, they like it and I would buy it again.

I purchased this for my daughters fifth birthday and she loves it. She is constantly drawing on it and also practicing writing. It saves me on paper. Not only does she love it her 2 year old brother loves it too. The kids are constantly fighting over who gets to use it, he will be getting one for Christmas to stop the fighting. The only problem I have is the pen is constantly getting lost. I wish it could be attached to the board with a string or something. I know they sell storage things for the pen but just having a string attachment would be great. The only other issue is I sometimes wish the writing showed up a little brighter, it is rather dark and hard to see unless you are looking at the perfect angle.

This is not a toy!... :-) I saw this & immediately thought it would be useful for work, and it is! It a very green alternative to daily feedings of the recycle bin. Only drawback is that it writes gray on black (& it seems a tiny bit over-priced). But that said, I decided to try it out, and it suits the purpose at work VERY WELL! I use it daily at my desk at work, and also take it to meetings.

I bought the Boogie for my 2 year old grand daughter. I thought it would save paper...sharpening pencils....no mess...no clean-up. Well that was all 100% true...but what I never expected was: I WANT ONE!!! They are fun but highly practical and useful. The size is just right for young children but adults could probably use an "up-grade".

The kids really love this, and are even using it to do their math homework on. The display isn't as bright as I was expecting based on the marketing pictures, but the kids don't seem to mind at all

Really neat concept. Easy to use and makes clear lines. The only drawback is that the entire tablet deletes - as an example, if you use it as a grocery list, since it deletes everything, you can't leave things on the tablet to carry over for next shopping trip, or use it for two different things. Overall though, it's a really neat idea.
