I have decided to homeschool my 8 and 9 year old daughters and have been searching "games" that fit with our lesson plans. The three of us played "Great States" today for an hour and learned many, many facts about our country, all the while having fun! Isn't this what learning is all about?! The game is colorful, sturdy, thorough and accurate. Games like this help me keep the kids learning instead of watching mindless TV. Thank you Fat Brain!

I have enjoyed the Great States Junior with my grandchildren (for non-readers). This is the next step up. It is a fun way to learn about our country for elementary/middle school children and a good review for us "older children" of all ages. It has different levels and some variations also; this keeps it interesting & challenging for the more knowledgeable individual. I also work in a special education setting & plan on using it in this setting. Yes, I agree with other reviews that the cardstock quality could be better but that is minor to me.

I bought this game for my 7 year old daughter. I am a home school teacher and I thought this would be a good game to use because we have been learning about all the states. This game is so fun that my daughter does not want to stop playing it, she loves it. We have learned so many things it is awsome. I would recommend this product to all parents and teachers. It is very fun and educational. A must have!

Great Learning Game

Great States game is a wonderful, fun tool to use in learning about the fifty states. The game is easy to set up and play, reading the instructions takes less than 5 minutes and you're playing. There is plenty of room for creativity in making your own variations for length of game and goals. It is fun to play with your children and even the adults learn! The only drawback is the low quality of the game cards which makes them awkward to use. Overall, we are pleased with this product.

I have 2 girls, 3 & 5, that are very interested in the country. We have the Scrambled States game which my 5 year old loves but wanted to pick up something we could all play. They both want to play it constantly. The three year old knows all of the states around us and can find every state that we have visited. It is amazing!

My daughter loves this game! It is great for early elementary aged kids. It is a great way to learn more about the United States. I am even learning some nuggets of information I didn't know before.

It is for a gift for my grandson. He is in 4th grade and learning all about the states. Even though I have not yet openned the gift, the description and information on the game itself sounds like it will be a great learning tool for him.

Neat Game!

This is a neat game! My 7 and 8 year old got right into it and were able to successfully play right away. It is a fun way to practice geography skills. The format is wide open for how you can modify it to the level of your children...we just enjoyed playing without the timer. The only complaint is that the spinner came apart a few times. I was able to fix it without an issue, but thought I would mention it. The board and cards are very durable.

Great States is age appropriate, with words and pictures for even the youngest player to understand. Our 4 yr old can play with the family as he can see the pictures and point to the words on the map. The older kids 7 and 8 enjoy the game very much because it is easy for them to read and understand and it goes along with things they are learning in school. We adults enjoyed it too. While it is easy for the kids, it is interesting for the adults. We are very happy with the game. The only thing that would make it better is a spinner not made of cardboard which in small hands becomes slightly bent and then not easily spun. A plastic spinner would add better quality to the game.

Excellent game for any young person interested in learning more about our great country; however, it is fun for all ages. The rules are such that you can make the game more difficult for more advanced players. Rules are simple and clear. It is hard to find a game as fun and educational as "Great States."

Great game for all ages -- The younger children can look at the map to find answers and adults can be challenged by not being allowed to view the map to find answers.
This game is both fun and educational.

This is a most excellent game! My boys are 6 and 7 and we can adjust the play to meet them where they are at and can grow with them as they get older. We ordered because we saw it at the Indianapolis Children's Museum gift shop and looked it up online when we got home to order.
