The drum sound is tinny and not realistic sounding. It is still a fun item.

Drumming Away

This is a fun product, but probably more for youngsters. I'm a retired, full of rhythm, musically obsessed person, and thought this would be a fun way to play along with music. The drawback, and reason for my rating, is the product isn't consistent in responding to taps. As long as one taps out a slow, beat, all is well. Anything else might be disappointing. All in all, though, it is fun and my cats were quite fascinated with the sounds!

Great Fun

This pen is just the neatest thing. It gives me a chance to brag about the fact that I am 70 years old and taking drum lessons. You are never to old to do something you really want to do. Maybe this is my second childhood, if so, it sure is better than the first.
