More Kapla is Better!

We have a small set of Kapla, and my two boys use them at least weekly to build all sorts of amazing things. This large set allows older kids more chance to create. My sons are also big into Legos. Kapla blocks also fills that mechanical, exact building desire. These are blocks for grownups too. They work great. I did not think blocks could be so special. Visit the Kapla site for amazing ideas.

Kapla Blocks in my Classroom

I use Kapla Blocks in my classroom. I teach in a gifted program and I use the blocks in my 5th grade to teach "structures" and to teach "problem solving." This is my second set of the 1000 piece Kapla Blocks. My program keeps growing so I needed another set. I need another set of 1000 but they're expensive. Watching my gifted 5th graders build with the Kapla Blocks is interesting. It takes them 15-30 minutes to get over their fear of blocks and start taking a risk to see what structures the blocks will tolerate. After that, they get creative with solving the problem. And the more they play with them, the better and more creative the structures get. After using Kapla Blocks and Legos in my program at different times, I prefer the Kapla Blocks. Kapla Blocks offer more imaginative and creative play.

My boys love this stuff! Hours and hours of quality family time together. I feel like I purchaced a keep sake toy that we will have forever.
