Terrific toy for small people
Posted 6/24/2008

Rating:

This is a wonderful, open-ended toy with just enough structure to give a nudge about how it might be used, but very little else in the way of direction or instruction. This is a Good Thing. My daughter, at 6 months, immediately lunged for these gorgeously colored toys and found them tasty, percussive, and useful arm extensions for reaching things just a little too far away. The adults in her life have used them together as a singing clam, as catcher's mitts, as babies to a regular-sized Bilibo (also awesome), as the equivalent of air hockey pucks, as shells for two-cup monte, and so on. The possibilities are tremendous, and this toy will clearly grow with our child. I had briefly doubted if such small Bilibos would be useful, since the large ones look so terrific, but they provide a very different experience, especially as the scale is more manageable for small hands. I plan to get more!

My daughter loves these bilibo minis. They are wonderful bathroom toys due to the flotation and she also enjoys hiding them under her full size bilibo. Definitely recommend for little ones!

We gave this to our son for his 1st b-day. HE LOVES it. He puts stuff in it, flips them all over, bangs them together. He also got the full sized one and it was a hit with all the kids (from 1 to 7).
Plus our therapist loves it. She is thinking of getting on for her kids with fine AND gross motor issues.

Cool little toy but my kid isn't interested

Seems like other little kids at the playground like this better than my son does! I bought it out of curiosity, to see what he would do with it - scoop sand, fill it with water, etc. For whatever reason, he would rather use an old cup, leaving the Bilibo mini for other kids to play with.

I had seen these before, and never bought them, they look so odd. And the cost is a little expensive for the large ones - I thought. I finally bought the larger bilibos for christmas and they were such a hit I decided to try the minis as well. The did not dissappoint, they are a fun creative toy with so many possibilities! Also, it should be metioned that they are very well made and sturdy. I have 4 little kids (7,5,3,1) and these will be around for a long long time!

I bought this for a 1 yr old's birthday, thinking the Bilibo might be too large. These are cute, but almost too small. Also, the package has some black and white drawings showing how the toy could be used. I think it would be better if it had photos showing children using the product. Also, a small write up with parent's testimonials. I feel odd gifting this now b/c I am afraid the parents won't know what to do with it!

I bought this for an 11 months old baby girl. I bought all the colors available. She went straight to it. She likes to hold them and throw them around, make them wobble. It seems like the simplicity, the shape and how easy it is to hold them really caught her interest.

The mini Bilibo is awesome! I bought it for my 14 month old and he loves it. He can do anything with it. He loves to put his little toy animals in it and carry them around. This is also an excellent bath toy for scooping up water!

We ordered two sets of these for our 2 and 4 year old grandsons' birthdays to go along with the large Bilibos. The boys are using the mini bilibos to hold blocks, stuffed animals and toys, upside down on their train track, and to scoop sand and water. They are really cute and very functional toys - we highly recommend them!

Both my 3 year old daughter and 8 month old son spend A LOT OF TIME with the bilibo minis. My 3 year old lets her imagination run wild whereas my 8 month old just likes banging them for the time being. These are one of my better investment toys as they are so versatile. They can be used in countless creative ways indoor and outdoor.

The mini bilbo was just as advertised - I got it because it was cute and something fun to put on my desk at school. I've used it as a candy dish and as a "hat" to pull vocabulary words out of for our charades game. It's colorful, fun and handy.

I have been wanting the purchase the bilibo since before my son was born! I love the plethora of play opportunities it provides. We haven't had it for long, and it has already been a hat, shoes (little tricky, but he's got small feet!), bowls, a house, a garage, a water toy. I cannot wait to see what else he comes up with! Sturdy construction and small enough to bring along in the car! I'll definitely be purchasing the larger size for the holidays!

I was surprised at how small this item was. I thought it would be just a little smaller than the original one, so that my 2 year old can enjoy it. It's a cute product. My kids are enjoying the bigger one that we also ordered. They haven't found much use for the Mini Bilibo, other than to eat their goldfish crackers in them.

My daughter has a regular Bilibo. I thought the mini-size would make a fun companion. I love the Bilibos. They foster creative play. The mini size does not have as strong of plastic. It may wear out sooner than the larger size.

The boys have fun with it in the bathtub, pretending it's a mask or helmet, but mostly I find it useful as a replacement for the pitcher I used to use to pour water over them. I think it's the kind of toy you have to grow into.

I bought two bilibo minis, one for my 11 month old son and one for a 1 year old girl. They both love them. I like that they are light weight, so I can take them in my diaper bag to use as entertainment on the go. I also love that they are easy to keep clean and made to last!

I purchased this for 4 year old thinking he could use it at the park. We haven't taken it to the park yet, however I think the bilibo mini would make a fun mold for playing with damp sand, and making a good bucket/shovel hybrid. He could fill it up with water and let water flow out of the holes, or forming a water cascade from one bilibo to the other. He also loves his full-size bilibo, so the mini will bring additional pleasant associations at the park.

I can't begin to describe the giggles and squeals that erupt when I hide something inside two of the bilibo minis and pretend that they are going to eat my 1 year old nephew. Every time I look, he's using them in a different way. His 3 year old sister loves them too. She thinks they're babies to her full sized Bilibo and loves that they have "eyes!" I recommend buying these first for the younger set and moving up to the large Bilibo once they're older. I love toys that have no batteries, no moving parts and just require imagination. The kids ignore loud, flashy toys to make the Bilibos do whatever they want. I really feel like they help with what playtime is really supposed to be - time for growing through imagination.

Mini's are as Fun as The Original
Posted 9/4/2007 by Jennifer

If you have an Original Bilibo, you'll love the mini's as well. They are fantastic. Our twin 4 year old boys have the original Bilibos and the mini's to go with them, they love them. They really get them to use their imagination. They've become all sorts of things. And as their interests change, the Bilibos become whatever they need for them to be. I love that they don't have batteries, buttons, or any parts to loose, too! Great toy!

The Bilibo Mini is a great toy! I bought it for my 2 year old and he loves it. It's great that it comes in a set of two (no fighting between siblings or cousins in our case) and the kids loved them. They happened to arrive on a particularly hot day when we had the sprinkler out and right away they used them to fill with water and dump it on each other. Since then we have also used it in the tub, the sandbox, and just for fun with our other toys. Even if your kids just use them outside they're worth it, but just like the large bilibo, I'm sure they'll find a million more uses for it.
