The big ring is plastic, but it convincingly matches the metal parts and makes the whole thing light enough to hang. It keeps good time. I got it for my workplace, but we tested it at home,, and now it's staying in the home!

Fun Clock

The clock has a high level of impact. People always comment on it. The numbers are big, too. You can see them from far away. It is made of plastic. I wish there was a plug-in option, it runs on D batteries.

Wheel Wall Clock

This is definitely a cool product, but cheaply made. The battery compartment/springs were loosely attached. The battery couldn't be inserted without bending the spring. After several tries, the spring and associated plate/solder is loosened. It will be easy enough to repair, but not what you'd expect for the price. We'll keep it though because, as I said - it's cool.

It could stand to be made out of a stronger plastic material. My husband and I bought a clock last year and it broke, hence the second purchase.

The clock looks great on the wall. It may only be plastic, but it looks like a real gear. It is quiet, and because it is plastic it is not heavy.

Clock is very cool. Everyone that has seen it is impressed by its uniqueness. Only criticism is that the big hour wheel is plastic.

The product is as advertised. The plastic parts could be a little heavier gauge however. The overall effect is good, and the clock keeps surprisingly good time.

There is a problem with one of the battery operated drive motors. I contacted Fat Brain Toys ( excellent ) and have arranged to have a replacement sent. I wish I had the young ladies name, it's home, because she would get an "atta boy". Thank you!

I thought the clock would show my personality (mechanically inclined), but after receiving it and putting the batteries in it...I've become very disappointed. The top and bottom gears are supposed to turn once you put the batteries in. The bottom gears do this beautifully and the top gears do not. They're sporadic at best. And those are the gears that matter as that's what keeps the correct time. Complete waste of money! I can only hope Fat Brain Toys takes care of this problem. (Note From Fat Brain Toys: To help Mr. Whiles correctly keep time, we have promptly sent out a replacement clock. Happy time telling! We are sorry for the clock's malfunctions.)

Wheels Within Wheels

I ordered the Big Hour Wheel Wall Clock because I just like all kinds of interesting looking clocks. I put them on my book shelves and sometimes on the wall. I am always looking for oversized clocks that fall into the category of art. This clock does not disappoint. It simulates a metal set of gears that seem to drive the clock. It actually is made of plastic and the gears turning are more about the artistic statement than actual mechanical drive, but that is the practical side of it. Looks like machine parts, weighs barely anything, and runs on batteries. Fun and easy function in one clock/art object.

Cool, interesting approach to a clock. Definitely an eye catching piece. Seems to work fine, easy to assemble...took 2 minutes. Has already generated positive comments from those who have seen it. Great conversation piece that actually serves a purpose!

Gears are plastic. If you can place it so that people cannot get too close, it looks great. Nice Big Size.
