This product requires time to construct. It encourages problem solving and thinking. The product does what it claims and works. There are few if any extra parts considering the small nature of some the parts (don't lose any parts). Overall, B+.

Our grandsons were well-challenged and worked long and hard assembling the roller coaster. All of their efforts paid off when they were able to see the cars fly down the track. An excellent gift for 8-10 year olds.

Our 8 year old grandson loves this, though it is too complex for him to build alone. We anticipated this, however, and he has been having fun building with his dad, Grampa, and uncle. Having the cars on the coaster was more fun for him than the marble one we had bought previously. Of course, the "old" guys loved it! With a little patience and maturity, I am sure he'll be able to build it alone. He already wants "add ons."

K'NEX products are a favorite in my household. My son has a very creative bent, at this time leaning towards roller coasters. He loves building rides that he has ridden or would like to ride. I believe that this product continues to help his interest in building, creating, and researching roller coaster facts. It has helped specifically in the math/science/mechanics side and we have added to it the library reading and writing side of learning. This product is easy to use, challenges his thought processes, and creates a fun family project.
