A Great Book, But Not For Beginners

I'm 10 years old, and a big K'Nex fan. The photos in the book are really cool. There are tons of good ideas. The only downer is most of them require a lot more K'Nex than I own. I'd have to buy more before I could do many of these. They are pretty hard. I wouldn't recommend for kids younger than me.

This will make you think more than the kits do

This book is loaded with IDEAS and some how-to instructions. I had been hoping that it would have the visual guidelines as each kit has, however this will challenge one's mental abilities to come up with the design shown in the picture.

Big Book of Knex

The book has a lot of great ideas but not all of the ideas show the steps for construction. Our 5 year old son has been asking for a lot of patterns off of the Knex web site. We thought this book would contain complete details for all noted projects and this has not been the case. Hence, we are still printing projects from the Knex web site.

Great Book

This was a great book full of ideas. You will need many different kinds of K'Nex pieces, though. My boys enjoyed making the ideas, but were somewhat limited by the pieces some of the things required. Overall, they enjoyed the book & built many of the ideas.

K'nex Idea book is so helpful for childern (and parents!) to expand their ideas and knowledge of how to construct, build and also understand the principles and basis of creativity.

My 8-year-old daughter was excited to receive the book and placed the rating on it. She received some K'Nex for a Christmas present and has used the book to enhance her creativity and interest.

K'Nex Big Book

My grandson, (and my son years ago), has had such fun with each K'Nex set. Now with so many pieces, and the Big Book will give him fresh insights to rebuild - looks like fun. I wish each of the displayed items would have shown step-by-step instructions. But the 94 pages do have a good variety of ideas. The 3 pages dedicated to K'Nexperts is a good idea - and rewards those creative children.

K'Nex is great but it helps to have so many varied plans. My son loves them but it's a big help to have a wide variety of options to prompt his own ideas.

Slightly Disappointing

The description of this book was the "BIG" book of K'NEX ideas. I was expecting a BIG book. The book is about the size of a magazine. The directions that are given are so-so. Many of the figures in the book were the same as the items in the books that came in the 400 pc tubs that we purchased also. My two boys are very imaginative and could follow along, but it was certainly not what I expected.

My grandchildren really enjoyed the ideas in this book. It made their building sets more versatile and useable. Some of the model directions need more steps with young children.

My K'nex Kid loves the book, mainly for the pictures. I have a hot air balloon now in my living room, thanks to the book. It is exactly what I wanted.

Book is a good resource for adults and kids of all ages. It has many fun things to builds. Our next book will include motor options, which this book does not.
