Fun For All Ages...

All of my children enjoyed playing with the Gears (ages ranging from 2-8). They were pretty easy to do. My 4 year old had no problems. I had to assist my 2 year old. They all had a lot of fun.

We got this for my son's third birthday. He is a mechanically inclined little guy who loves to figure out how to take things apart and see how they work -- change batteries, unscrew screws, etc. This was the perfect gift for him. He is fascinated...and so is his 7-year-old sister!

Ben (4 years old) wants to come to Grandma's house all the time now, even when he and Mom are planning to go somewhere else that he likes, so that he can play with Gears! Gears! Gears!
When I am babysitting him, he will play with it off and on ALL day.
Ben's Uncle Tom (41 years old) has shown Ben lots of shapes to make, but Ben is now making his own shapes. It is much easier to build with than some of his other toys.

At two and a half years old, my boy can't negotiate all of the ways to put these together. And it took me awhile to figure out all of what you can and can't do. But everyone who walks in the room says "wow" when they see the Gears. And many of those people, including adults, give it a spin or change a few gears out to test it.

We gave the Gears, Gears, Gears beginners building set for our grandson's third birthday on Saturday. By Sunday he was putting it together and seemed to be having a lot of fun with it.

My son just turned 3 last Saturday and the gears toy is one of the presents he received. The other toys were for outdoor, so we've mostly been playing outside for now - atleast until it gets colder. But he definitely has shown interest in the gears toy and I know he will enjoy it more once we start spending more time inside. It's still a bit tricky for him to put the pieces together but he loves his blocks so I'm hoping he'll feel the same about these.

My twin boys got this toy for their 4th birthday. It is colorful and sturdy. Definitely well-made. The parts are easy to snap together and there are enough pieces to make some pretty cool creations. They definitely show more interest in it when there is an adult playing along with them. I don't think they are quite old enough to engineer something on their own yet. The one thing I would have liked to see is an extra crank. Only one crank came with the set and I have two children. So they have to work together...not always as easy as it sounds!

Gear for Greatness

This building set of gears is a great toy for so many reasons. I bought this as a gift for my nephew for his fourth birthday. It is simple to set up and play as was seen when my nephew started arranging the pieces together almost right away. It is colorful and a marvel to look at when the gears are in motion, especially for younger eyes. The pieces are made of quality plastic, which is durable and solidly coated with paint. This set nicely introduces basic concepts of movement and mechanics of gears to little ones. Although the idea for this toy is certainly not a new concept, it does exactly what it is supposed to do while still providing the potential for lots of fun and learning at the same time. It is certainly something with which the child it is intended for will grow with over time as his or her curiosity and creativity expands over the years.

Gave this to my 4 year old nephew for his birthday last week and my sister in law says he asks to play with it every afternoon - enless options have kept him entertained and coming back for more!

According to my daugher in law, the gears, gears, gears toy was great fun for her 3 year old son; and his 5 year daughter and 7 year old cousin also enjoyed playing with the gears. It was great to see them all playing together and having a good time.

Gears, Gears, Gears has a superior product. But with our set, the pieces are hard to fit together. Even i myself as an adult, find the pieces difficult
to push into place.
Therefore the raiding of "plays with it once in a while".

My son absolutely loves gears, so this toy was rather a no brainer. However, he is two and some of the pieces are hard to get together for building anything functional. I'm sure he will love them even more in time.

this is one of those toys that generates open ended activity -
perfect for the curious child -
perfect for developing exploration with others
its durable - we don't seem to have broken parts with this -
and they return to it again and again

This was used in my 3 year old grandson's Mother's Morning Out class. The little guys were enjoying it so much, I ordered it that same morning. He and his 5 year old sister have spent several hours building and turning. We're leaving it out for a few days on their play table. Lots of creative building!!!

I bought these for my 3 year old niece. She loved to play with them (and it was fun to watch her figure out how). Her 8 and 9 year old cousins enjoyed them as well. So did the adults! They are well built. Sturdy enough to get thrown around and not break. Great product!

As soon as my son saw these he insisted on playing with them. He won't let us put them away. One of the best parts is that there is a little handle that you can put anywhere you want. As my son will be three in a few months he needs a touch of help with that but enjoys it. Building up is difficult for him but I love that we will get so much bang for our buck! He LOVES these now and there will be different ways that he can enjoy these as he grows. When the time does come where he outgrows these, I'll bring them to my kindergarten classroom where my students will LOVE them too!

While I ordered this for my almost 3 year old, my older son (almost 6) has taken a liking to this gears set! He has fun building new combinations and seeing how the gears make each other move. I am hoping my little one will eventually get into it as well.

Very well thought out educational toy for young children. Our child is 3.5 years old and was able to do this all by himself. After only a few minutes he was already asking questions like "what will happen if I take this gear out?" We as parents are very impressed with this Gears set.

Bought this for my five-year old son and he was thrilled to see it - he knew right away what it was as he had played with it at his pre-school last year. He still enjoys playing with it, as does his three-year old sister. Nice building toy - good quality - and can build interesting complex systems with it.

This is a great toy to encourage imagination and interaction. I got rid of the directions because my kids were creating things bigger and better than what was even suggested. This toy is durable. It can be played independently or with a group. It can get a little loud when all the gears get working. There are some small pieces that stick tight when connected, requiring adult assistance to separate them.

I am a grandmother to a 4-yr. old boy, a 4-yr. old girl, and an 18 mos. old girl. I try to have age appropriate toys for them to play with at my house. I purchased Gears, Gears, Gears mainly for my grandson. I believe that this product is well made and will give hours of enjoyment. They are colorful and can be made into several different shapes.

I thought the product was great. I certainly provides insight into the mechanical nature of machines and the flexibility of the product is terrific. Some additional types of gear mechanisms would be the only improvement I could suggest.
