While I ordered this for my almost 3 year old, my older son (almost 6) has taken a liking to this gears set! He has fun building new combinations and seeing how the gears make each other move. I am hoping my little one will eventually get into it as well.

Our boys are 5 and 3, and we have made a couple of designs with the gears since we opened them. They like to do it themselves for a little while but do need help from us to get some of the more elaborate designs. I think it would be more fun if it had some reward at the end, it would make a car drive away or something... to learn more about cause and effect. Overall a fun toy though, and a good one to grow with.
