This is a great addition to the other Gears sets. Lots of fun for 3-5 year old; even my 2 year old likes the Gears, but can't operate them as well. My 4.5 year old will spend a lot of time making different creations. The only downside are the slinky pieces VERY quickly were twisted and didn't work quite as well, but they aren't necessary to do too much. Also the batteries seemed to run out quickly.
