This plate makes it much easier for my 3 year old to build on her own as it provides stability to her structures that just the table top does not provide. Just be sure to buy the right plate for your blocks. For example the lego plates have smaller pegs that aren't made for the bigger duplo blocks. I almost made this mistake.

Duplo Building Plate

The building plate is a must for little builders! Structures can be larger and taller without falling over, etc. Eliminates the frustration they experience when they don't have a base to work on. I think Lego should include this large building plate (15 x 15) with starter sets. Some parents don't know that it's available or how much it aids little children with their construction skills.

Lego Building Plate

This building plate is great. My 2 1/2 yr old daughter's "castles" would always fall down and she would cry. The building plate gives the support she needed and we have a lot less tears. A must-have for Legos fans!

We got the Lego Duplo Building Plate along with the Duplo Learning set for a grandson's 4th birthday. They were a huge hit - he played with them non-stop until bedtime. Legos by themselves are a great toy, and the Building Plate added another dimension. He could construct scenes that stayed together, even on a plush carpet.

Perfect Base for the Lego Duplo Big Farm

I bought one of these building plates to be the base for our Lego Duplo Big Farm 4659. The farm fits just right and provides extra stability and the opportunity to create farm scenes with the animals, people, and farm equipment. My boys play with this farm every day and now won't take it off the building plate. Their other Duplo Lego creations needed a plate to bring their creations, such as tall buildings, stability, and so I bought them three more of these large green building plates. They use them every day!
