Struggle for Rome is a fun and enjoyable game. It is not Settlers of Catan, and those who are expecting Settlers on a new map will be disappointed. The game, though, is good in its own way. Struggle takes some of the basic concepts from Settlers (like hexagonal board pieces, resources, development cards, and a robber piece) and puts them into an entirely new game. Instead of being a purely economic game, Struggle uses the resources you gather to construct military units. The game is much longer than the average Settlers game, and can be a little slow at times, but is still a lot of fun. If you can find two or three other people who are equally as interested, Struggle for Rome is well worth the money and time and will be a good time for all.
