Seafarers of Catan is a great expansion to the original game. The trade routes and bonus points give a great opportunity for inventive new srategies. The scenarios can give direction to those that were having trouble finding it in Settlers.

This is a very nice edition to add to your original Settlers of Catan game as it extends the playing time. An added bonus is the interlocking border which holds all the playing tiles in place!

I love this game. I have been playing the original Settlers of Catan game for a while. It is great to now see more variations.

If you like Settlers of Catan, you will NOT be wasting your money on this! It's not essential, but it adds some great variations. It makes the whole experience that much more addictive. Highly recommended, but note that you need to own Settlers of Catan to be able to use this expansion game.

A Great Game

Seafarers of Catan is an expansion for one of the best board games I've ever played, Settlers of Catan. I own Cities and Knights of Catan, and Seafarers of Catan adds a new dimension to an already awesome game. This new depth does increase the complexity and length of the game, but with this game that's okay. A mark of a great game is that it's hard to tell who's going to win until the game is done. All Catan games do this splendidly. There's not a clear down-and-out winner until the very end of the game. I feel that Cities and Knights of Catan adds more to the gameplay than Seafarers. Nonetheless, that's a very high bar to hold this expansion to, and it surely deserves a very high rating.
