My 3 year old son loves this alphabet sound puzzle. I was a little worried that the sound of the letters would not be clear, but the first time we tried it was completely audible.

This puzzle is wonderful. It gives a child the opportunity to learn what the letters of the alphabet are with a hands on approach. As the child puts the letter back the correct place, the puzzle says its name. Also the puzzle is very durable. The children that we buy it for enjoy it because it is colorful and fun to work with. They do not realize that they are learning from it, so it does not feel like a chore to them to learn their alphabets or their numbers (we also got the numbers sound puzzle).

Our 2-year old grandson loves this puzzle. He has played with it for hours. It is well made and a good value for the money. The sound feature is a little quirky. If any pieces are missing from the puzzle, the sound can go off when the room light changes. And the sound doesn't work when a lot of pieces are out. But these are minor problems and ones I have come to expect with any sound toy, even more expensive ones. The important thing is that is has a lot of play and educational value and is a much loved and enjoyed toy.

Although I wanted to be satisfied with this puzzle I was not. The sound does not always match the corresponding alphabet, and sometimes it just won't work at all. (Note from Fat Brain Toys: Of sweet sound to the ears - the manufacturer stands behind the quality of its products. Our customer received a replacement puzzle, courtesy of Melissa & Doug.)

Great Toy- Sound Goes On Very Easily

Great product. The sound keeps going on for a while even after it is used. It does not recognize if it is the correct letter the child is trying to put on. It just tells the letter. We still love it. We will definitely recommend it.

An Awesome Puzzle!

This puzzle is great quality. The letters are wooden cut-outs. They are very durable. Each letter has a microchip in it. When the letters are placed in their correct positions there is an audio response with the letter's ID and an example of a word that begins with the letter. My 3 year old is learning his letters. He enjoys hearing the audio from this puzzle.

The puzzle is awesome except for the sound which is so low. It would be much better if there was a control panel to adjust the volume.

I definitely recommend this puzzle. My daughter loves all the Melissa & Doug products. They are sturdy and durable. When my daughter grows out of it, we will pass it on to my niece.

The images behind the alphabet letters are a little confusing. It made it more difficult for the child to see where the letters go.

Toy Talks to Itself

This toy is a big hit with my toddler grandson. He loves it and is learning his alphabet rapidly. The only drawback is the lack of an on/off switch. The toy will begin talking to itself when the morning sun hits it. We have taken to putting it to "bed" at night by throwing a blanket over it. Other than that, it is a great toy.

Thank you for following up with me on my purchase. Overall, I do like the Alphabet Sound Puzzle. My 22 month old son is playing with it and is beginning to like it more and more as his skills improve. My only comment is some of the associated words cause him some confusion because they are not what he has learned before. But, then I guess this is an opportunity for him to increase his vocabulary. We have quite a few Melissa & Doug puzzles and like them for their quality in product and in teaching purpose.
