great product and customer service

The board looks and feels great . . . we were totally satisfied with the product quality. Although the color of the board was not the original color pictured on the website (Fat Brain Toys offered several solutions to make up for their error when I contacted them), it is still very cool. FYI: the board from Fat Brain Toys is red and black checkered with red and black pieces; the one pictured on the website was white and natural wood checkered with red and blue pieces. It appears they do not carry the white/natural wood board. Regardless, we love the board. We are using it as a multi-purpose game board at our house that we've set out to have games out to play all the time. Currently, we are in the middle of a game of Yahtzee . . .

Great Set

This checkers set is heavy to hang, as others have noted, but I love that it hangs up. With clutter a constant challenge, and a cat that has caused many things to disappear, hanging is a real plus. It is beautiful, so it looks nice on the wall. My 9 year old can handle getting it up & down, but a younger kid might not.
As far as playing the game, the set is nicely constructed, the wooden pieces feel nice when they're handled, and I could easily distinguish the black from red pieces (which some reviewers had a problem with).

The game is well made. As noted elsewhere, the red and black checkers are so close in color that in dimmer light it is almost impossible to tell them apart. Otherwise, the children (not to mention adults) are all enjoying checkers on a weekly basis!

I have purchased all of the games that are made by Melissa and Doug. I feel they are beautifully done and on a wall make a beautiful display especially because they are all color coorindinated, made of the same wood, and can be taken down to play them. You are very smart to have them in your store and they meet the criteria that you are looking for in products to sell. If they come out with any other games I would probably purchase them

This is a great, well made checkers game. Not only are the pieces mad of wood, they attach nicely to a string at the top of the game. It can also be used as a decoration. I really wanted a "plain" old fashioned checkers game, and my kids love it. It was the only one that wasn't a combo game with chess. Well worth the money.

I purchased these checkers for my husband and me.
We have been married 48 years, and checkers are wonderful for any age. Our brains need to be FATTER. You know what they say,
"Use it or lose it!" The quality of these checkers will last longer than we will. They are beautiful.

Great product. My son loves it! Love the way you can store the checker pieces. I also like that you can hang the item on the wall if you have a game room.
