Great product. We have a lot of Melissa and Doug toys. They are good quality toys and fun, too.

my son is only 2 years and i think this is a little too old for him. he likes to take the pieces out, but doesn't quite get the concept of putting them back in. i am going to have to be careful we don't loose them (probably under the fridge, where all the other magnets live) but the product itself is very nice. the only thing i didn't particularly like is that one of the pages is a "dinosaur" page. i'd rather they'd done something that's still alive, like sea creatures. i am afraid my little one might be confused and/or scared.

As a Developmental Therapist, I use this item with toddlers and preschoolers to work on conceptual and language skills. I love the design - it's attractive, sturdy, and the kids LOVE it. The combination of picture book and puzzle makes for a very motivating, tangible way for them to learn as they play.

My 20-month-old finds it too easy to do wooden peg puzzles, and too difficult to do the interlocking piece puzzles, and this option is great: it has magnetic animals you put into a book, so you have to flip the pages to find the right spot to put them in.

My daughter is a little young for this Puzzle book (she's 16 months), but she loves it. She loves me going through all of the items/animals and sounds with her and she loves taking the pieces off. All in all i think it's a really nice product.

I like this product. My daughter is 16 months old. She loves puzzles and books. Everything she has that is Melissa and Doug has been great. The only complaint I have is the page with the dinosaurs is too advanced for children her age, but the other pages are great.

I carry toys with me when I see families with babies who have a developmental delay and/or a hearing loss. I find the book rather heavy for my use. I also do not use the dinosaur page. It's not appropriate for young children and the language I target is more functional everyday vocabulary. However, the children do enjoy placing the matching animal shapes in the correct spot and it helps with beginning categorization.

Sturdy wooden puzzle from Melissa and Doug. This is a Christmas present for my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. She probably will enjoy it. I purchased this because of Melissa and Doug's policy of testing their toys from china.

This is great for my 28 month old son, who loves animals and puzzles. The peices are magnetic so they stay in place, and the product is made of wood and it is a safe toy.

I like the toy and its ability to keep my daughter busy. The strings used to keep the pages together would be better if elastic. Overall great toy.

My 2 year old loves animals, puzzles, and books more than anything. This toy is all three of those rolled into one. It's sturdy, safe (no sharp corners, etc), and has all of the usual animals you would find in an animal book for kids this age. Great for learning the animals' names and sounds.

The Magnetic Animals Book is solid and strong. It would be nicer if it had a different kind of binding. Great fun for matching! The product is fun now, and will continue to be fun as my son's fine motor skills improve and he becomes able to place all the magnets back in their matching slot on his own. Being able to play with them on the fridge adds another aspect. There are two playing grounds - the book and the fridge.

My year old grandson loves animals and is able to manage the animal pieces. He spent quite a bit of time on Christmas day playing with this book although he had MANY other toys around him. I've never been disappointed in a Melissa and Doug product. They encourage hand-eye coordination and produce basic, durable toys..
